I just cleared my phone of the old pictures, but when get home I'll snap a picture of the basement lights I did and the bedroom ceiling fans. In one room, I had to raise the height of the switch because of that issue and put a blank plate over the old one (NEVER drywall over it... it's against code).

When we bought the place, these were the pizza hut lights (listing photo)

3 little (ugly) lights for the whole basement.  So like I mentioned before, I added recessed lighting:

(I did a s*** job patching the drywall.  I had to rush it because we had an inspector coming in to apraise the home and I needed to have a "finished" basement.  So I patched it as fast as possible by putting TOO much compound on and tried to sand it down because I had 3 days to paint and lay the floor down before he came.  I finished at 4 am on a Monday, he arrived at 9.)

I like your flooring - what brand did you use?   I really like the can lights that have the temperature changes.  Our basement / media room lights are on dimmers.  You did a really nice job. Now all you have to do is replace the sliding door and trim that out lol.

Its a Dream Home laminate.  Funny thing is I started the basement project back in the fall of 2016 and we purchased the flooring in 2017.  (Then we bought the beach condo in 2017 so we put it on hold to renovate that place. Started to make some progress again on it in 2018 but then put it on hold in 2019 to help out with another remodel.  2020 I was FINALLY able to put time into it so its finally coming together.  Down to some minor plumbing and I have to close up the fireplace we are adding.  But it's otherwise done.  Now that I got the guest bathroom, nursery and guest bedroom all finished as of today I can now focus on the finishing touches down there.)  Problem is, when I finally got to it in 2020, they discontinued that product and when I was 75% done it became clear I didn't have enough to finish.  The solution?  Tile under the wet bar (well, we first just laid the board around it but came to realize you couldn't pull the wine fridge out then, so I removed the wet bar and laid tile to lift the fridge):

I had ONE board left over when I was done.  It was that close.

And yeah, schmoopie hates the slider.  She wants to put in a french door.  But its one of those "eh, we can live with it for now and sink the money into other projects" given that I could do two bathroom remodels with the same funds to replace one door.

The "Super Pantry" is now done.  It all started when we discovered we had a leak in the ceiling.  We ripped open a hole in the ceiling and my father in law fixed the leak.  Some time later, Easter actually, we came home and I decided time to remove the drywall on the wall that was ruined.  (Probably because my bother in law kept sneaking me IPA's.)  I started to chop out the drywall that was destroyed and found a 4' x 8' room walled off.  It has a low ceiling (its under the stair landing\laundry room), so I don't blame them for not spending money on a door, trim, extra wiring, and 3-4x the drywall.  Anyway, this was perfect because we were using a 5'x8' portion of our storage room to put in a bathroom, so we recoup most of the lost storage.

Framed out the door and added a light (and switch) to the new room:

Repaired drywall:

Framed door and added storage racks:

Added an outlet for a chest feezer

It also has access to room under the stairs.  I *may* put in a door eventually, but for now I'll be able to store bulky items like paper towels and TP.  Oh yeah, and it has a natural slot for storing wrapping paper

Yeah. When it first hit I stocked us up fairly well and last November before the second spike really took hold we dropped a grand at Costco.  Goal was to hunker down and go out for only perishable necessities. But I didn’t have my Super Pantry so I lost my garage for 4 months

Before the sectional and TV, but you can get an idea of the size with all the kids' crap lol.

They had a drop-in ceiling. When we redo the upstairs floor, I plan to add some quality underlayment to get rid of any noise. I ripped out the drop-in ceiling, so we don't really have sound-proofing from upstairs noises.

I respect a man with a well stocked dry storage. Cant tell you how often it comes in handy when cooking. In my recent move my dry storage space upgraded 3-fold... everything has a place😊. Its the simple things in life that bring me such joy.

It looks like we used the exact same lighting    (My super pantry and storage, not the main basement area where we had drywall allready)

Half the stuff was in the garage and half was downstairs in our main storage area, so I kept buying crap because I didn't have a proper inventory.  Part of the reason I can open a Costco in my house

But yeah, Schmoopie can tell you how annoying I was being about getting it done and how excited I was once it was finished.   It was like when I finally got my tool chest and could actually find my supplies.

i am concerned about the placement on the cooler.

How so?  Requires 8 inches on each side for venting.  While I do have it pushed over a bit in that pic I have moved it to the left slightly.  (wheels yo)

I originally wanted to have the setup flipped, with the cooler on the right and the shelves in an L shape on the left, but that duct is in the way so it forced my hand <_<

This is my favorite type of room. Paco, you did an awesome job cleaning it up after I was done

What up, ****? I thought you died when that last load got caught in your throat?   Won me $20 when you proved your mom did better in the middle of the circle than you would   Paid for my ticket to the party!

Gotta say, watching your eyes popping out of your sockets really did it for me 🚀

My brother and I did some more electrical stuff on Saturday.  My son went down with the painted and repaired cabinets.  He took a generator as he wanted to see the place with the lights on.  He is obsessed with lights.  Owner should be turning on the juice soon!

I remember when your arse got "lost in the woods" with those two homeless guys from under the 13th St bridge. You always walked a little funny after that weekend.  Did they show you a good time, or have a good time with you?  You kept saying that white stuff under your nose was coke, but I think everyone knows you didn't have a roll of toilet paper to wipe your face like at Cavanaughs  .   You seem to have this bad habit of always ending up in the middle of a bunch of men, huh?

I'm married, with two kids.  I welcome any adult interaction.  I'll even clean up your mess without ****ing if it means talking about something other than Lion King or PJ Masks for ten minutes.

Any of you filthy animals in the Raleigh area this weekend, I can use your help digging this trench to run power to my shed and also for upcoming fire pit project.   I feel like Andy Dufrense.   Rocks and clay.  Fun digging.

I'm no expert but it will go a lot faster if you use something bigger than that little spade on the ground.
