No clue if this story is real or not (smells BSy but who knows with him). However it is great to know that Ted is the kind of guy who vacations in Cancun and owns a Bichon Frise.
February 19, 20214 yr A picture taken by a reporter for New York Magazine on Thursday showed the pet poodle looking out of a window of Mr Cruz’s home in Houston, Texas, while the senator, his wife, and daughters were away. Mr Cruz said he was trying to be a good father by taking his two young daughters out of the state in a written statement released after the short vacation was widely criticised on Thursday. A security guard said he had been tasked with looking after the poodle while the family were away from the home — which appeared to have electricity restored on Thursday afternoon, according to the reporter.

That's part of the business continuity planning process that's done religiously every year by deadly serious people on leadership/steering committees who workshop outages and associate exact revenue loss numbers per second a particular application or infrastructure platform is not up. Clearly, in the case of ERCOT and/or the power generation companies, those conversations never happened or the people involved in them aren't anywhere serious enough to be in any position to make informed decisions. Make no mistake, people will be fired for this. This was a failure of leadership on many fronts, including business continuity. https://www.ksat.com/news/defenders/2021/02/18/ercot-board-meeting-last-week-included-joke-about-cowboy-boots-less-than-40-seconds-of-storm-talk/

No, that's disgusting, evil, and abhorrent. Ted Cruz is a sad pathetic excuse for a man who makes hapless decisions. That doesn't make him worse than many people who have done way worse.
February 19, 20214 yr I used to wonder if there was anything the msm could try to blow up that libs would look at and say "nah, that’s too petty, I’m just not that interested.” After seeing the reaction to Cancungate, I now know that answer is no.
