Tiger Woods was hospitalized following a bad single-car accident in L.A. County on Tuesday morning -- with officials requiring the jaws of life to free him from the vehicle.

"On February 23, 2021, at approximately 7:12 AM,  LASD responded to a single vehicle roll-over traffic collision on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Ranchos Palos Verdes," officials say.

"The vehicle was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard, at Blackhorse Road, when it crashed. The vehicle sustained major damage."

"The driver and sole occupant was identified as PGA golfer, Eldrick 'Tiger' Woods," officials confirmed.

"Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the 'jaws of life' by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries."

Unclear what caused the accident. Cops are investigating.

45-year-old Tiger was in the area for his annual Genesis Invitational golf tournament at the Riviera Country Club in the Pacific Palisades.

Just this week, he took photos with stars like David Spade and Dwyane Wade -- and announced recent back surgery could keep him out of the upcoming Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia.

Dang - hope he comes out of it OK.  Can't help but think the wreck was caused because he was on too many pills, based on his history. 

Multiple leg injuries, at least, currently in surgery.  News helicopters showing the wreck.  Looks pretty bad.

If they’re talking leg injury and not mentioning anything else, it sounds like he’ll live but I wonder if this is the end of his playing days

Saw a recent interview with him they played on PTI yesterday. He had crazy bags under the eyes. Looked to me like he was probably back on something, but I guess the bags could have been from sleepless nights because of back pain. Sad stuff if he's hooked again.

Shattered ankle 2 broken legs-one compound fracture.  Rescue thinks by wearing a belt saved his life.  Lord only knows how his back will react to the trauma.  Wish him well.  

Could be a blessing for him. Can focus on just getting mentally well instead of golf. I know a lot of people hate on the guy and maybe rightfully so, but I do feel bad for him, seems he just cant get out of his own way lately in his personal life.

Could be a chance to get addicted to pain killers and go into a depression too.  Lets hope he goes your route
