Already got the level 2 wiring done and the unit is sitting in my garage. 30% credit for the wiring and the unit, so that is nice too. Does the charger need to be "professionally" installed to qualify for the credit? We have the wiring and the charger, just haven't put it in yet. My BIL is going to assist me and he works for Peco, so that's kind of a professional there. BTW, f wire costs these days. Dropped over $500 for our wire to reach from the panel to the garage

Dropped over $500 for our wire to reach from the panel to the garage I got an invoice from my guy. I am guessing that is all you need. And, no shite! The install for the wiring cost me $850 due mostly to the wire costs. Unit itself was $600 (Juice Box 40 from Costco $599).

I have an unopened spool of 14/2 wire I was holding on to from my 2018 condo remodel for our basement remodel. I'm thinking of trying to take it back to Lowes for store credit

Looks like it's no longer available though.

If you plug in a 50 amp charger you only get 40 amps, so it makes sense to hardwire it. I *think* there is a 240 plug adapter for it but don't quote me on that since I plan on hardwiring. I am going to also install a regular 240 volt plug in the garage in case we end up with two garaged EV's. That's down the road when the bleeping wire costs come back down.

December 2, 20223 yr The title of this thread is due for a change since unemployment is at an all time low and the national average of gas prices is near pre pandemic levels. Thanks to Grandpa Joe.

Thanks to Grandpa Joe. I’ve seen you post that about gas prices twice. It’s up 40% from Feb 2020 (it’s up higher from March, but will use Feb higher value since you say pre-pandemic levels). I wouldn’t classify that as being near in value, but we may differ in that definition.

No. Trump and Biden had a Face/Off operation a while back, which is why it seemed like Biden did well and Trump got his a** kicked in the midterms. But they could switch back at any moment.
