Pretty ignorant thing to say.  Just raise the prices on everything.  Cause F poor people.  Right?

Not to mention the extra discretionary funds that everyone would have with lower gas prices can help support other businesses.  Pretty odd stance you have.

this will take another hit on the restaurant industry. Grocery retail thrives when gas prices are high with people staying home to cook because of gas prices.

Yep, better skip spending $80 on dinner, gas just went up 20 cents

Saying "stop being poor” while spending the last year criticizing Trump for being an ignorant A Hole is easily the most hypocritical and out of touch thing I have seen on the MB in quite a while.

F the poors is the official slogan of CVON

You seem aggravated. You know what might help? Be less poor.

It's really entertaining watching people lose their minds over the smallest price changes. Then have things they will spend any amount on without hesitation.

People will lose their effing sheet over a 5 cent increase on bananas, then go spend 50 bucks on lottery.

People who play the lottery religiously never make sense to me.

I don't either and it's the same people every single day doesn't matter what is going on in the world they have to play it no matter what is going on. My dad plays the same exact lottery every single day 25 bucks total a day

I've seen people hit some pretty big jackpots and still come in everyday and just spend more.on lottery and piss it all away again.

Man.  There’s a whole lot of ignorant in here tonight.

No argument here.

Nope. None at all.

My wife makes me go buy a ticket when it gets really high.  My point to her is, that’s the last time to play since the odds are so high.  But if the public spent that extra money on lottery tickets than gas, at least some of that lottery money would go to the states funds for roads and infrastructure.  But who the F knows where this extra $.80/gallon is going.  I prefer not to spend any of it.  I’m kind of a miser.

I'll go in on tickets if work pools money together when it's really high.  I don't want to be the only one sitting there after everyone quits lol.

One of our stores hit a decent sized pot and I think like 15 people got 30,000 each.

Then about a month ago we had a guy hit 250,000 dollars on a 5 dollar scratch off..... Makes me think about playing it but, then I don't. I try to convince myself to buy like one 10 dollar scratch off a week to at least have a chance but, that never happens either.

I’m sure the high gas prices have nothing to do with Texas oil refineries being shut down for a week.

Im sure we will find out if they drop.  If not then what?

Me either.  I dont throw my money that way ever.   I kinda get annoyed waiting in line at the convenience store for sprung lotta players to decide what scratchers they want. Straight gamblers addicts.

but seriously, can you imagine how much money lotto and scratchers are bringing in? If half that money went to healthy care and the other 1/2 to education we would be set.

Gas Prices and the stock market have almost nothing to do with who is POTUS.  That's been my stance since I first started posting here in 2006, it's still my stance today.

Presidents have a reasonable amount of influence on gas prices between foreign and domestic policy. Attack oil production through war and regulation, and POTUS can raise prices a lot, especially in the short term.  Equities is more marginal.

My dad literally calls it, "The fing moron tax."

Ok, let's just lower the price of EVERYTHING then.

A President can’t control the weather and Texas oil refineries shutting down due to extreme temperatures though.  Fwiw

As you said, let’s see if that is the cause.   I hope.  But I seem to remember them spiking before that cold blast in Texas.  Maybe not as much.

I don’t see spiking.  I paid $2.49 this weekend.  I don’t consider that excessive at all.

Other than going to war in the Middle east (which republicans and democrats do in almost equal measure), everything else is absorbed within 3 months by the markets.  The POTUS matters almost nothing to what you spend on gas.

5 minutes ago, 4for4EaglesNest said:

Never said it was excessive.  There certainly was a spike.  Where do you live BTW.  Obviously not PA.  Thankfully I’m in NC now.

Winston-Salem, NC.  I saw it was $2.69 at the Sheetz in King, NC.  Just for reference gas was over $4.00 in 2007 and 2008.

16 minutes ago, 4for4EaglesNest said:

 Did I say everything?   Your whole argument to defend the recent spike in gas prices is, don’t be poor and it wouldn’t matter.  Even if you aren’t poor,  wouldn’t be nice to keep that money and spend it on what YOU want to spend it on?  Not what someone else wants you to spend it on?  Or is that too American for you?

Now you come with, "well let’s just lower prices on everything”.  Uhhh....if raised prices on services, merchandise, groceries and pretty much everything else didn’t help keep companies and businesses afloat and pay employees, then you might have some sort of a point.  But you are severely tone deaf.  I sincerely hope you’re trolling.   You have to be.

The point is, gas fluctuates all the time. If you're complaining between the difference of 3.50 a gallon or 3.70 a gallon then you have bigger problems.

Ultimately it's a ridiculous thing to constantly complain about therefore it deserves a ridiculous response.

There’s an app called Gas Buddy that tells you where the cheapest gas is.  I never use it.  Why?  I’m not going to drive out of my way to save a couple dollars on gas.  And I say that as someone who is generally a penny-pincher.  Lol

5 minutes ago, 4for4EaglesNest said:

No.  That’s not what got me to reply in here and what has kept me in here.  Because of course gas fluctuates.  What has kept me in here is your ignorant responses.

You poor or something?
