  It's $3.89 now, exactly the same as it was in 2019, during the so-called "Greatest Economy in the History of Mankind" and you losers are queuing and blaming Biden.  And that's despite inflation.  I think Biden's way past 4-D chess here.  Much like yourself at a party, he's up to 6 or 7 D's now.

Damn Biden for making oil companies produce summer gas which causes increases every year at this time.

Why Gasoline Prices Are On The Rise

Gasoline prices are on the rise, climbing nearly $0.30/gallon since the beginning of the year. What you may not realize is that this price rise happens nearly every year. In fact, if we look back to 2000, the only time gasoline prices didn’t climb between January and May was in 2020 — when the COVID-19 pandemic collapsed oil prices.

There are two reasons this changeover generally correlates with higher gasoline prices. First, it is more expensive to produce summer gasoline. A key reason for this is butane.

Yeah, I read that the switchover involves a different type of oil/gasoline. It happens every year. The different gas costs more.

I don't remember it being over $3 much in 2019. It almost touched $3 in 2018.

it was higher in 2008, and that's not adjusting for inflation.

Yeah it wasn't even sniffing $4 a gallon in 2019 - they definitely changed the prices on that sign before they shot that video

Averages:

Joe Biden (partial term) — $3.60

Barack Obama first term — $3.12

Barack Obama second term — $2.95

George W. Bush second term — $2.77

Donald Trump — $2.57

It sucks that gas prices have increased but thankfully that's been dwarfed by the gains in my 401k which was mostly flat under Trump but exploded through the roof under Biden!

well, I don't doubt that some areas had $4/gallon gas.

for political theater you could find gas stations today that fit any narrative.

want to talk about cheap gas? do a remote around Jackson Mississippi where you can get gas under $3/gallon.

want to talk about "Bidenomics" and gas? head on out to the remote area of eastern California or somewhere in the desert between the Grand Canyon and Salt Lake City, you'll find places over $6 or $7 a gallon.

Yeah the Dems tried to get cute when it was at its highest during Trump's term, not realizing that a few short years later their dementia patient candidate would have that as the low point.

Here I'll post the averages again so you can try to reconcile this:

  1. Joe Biden (partial term) — $3.60
  2. Barack Obama first term — $3.12
  3. Barack Obama second term — $2.95
  4. George W. Bush second term — $2.77
  5. Donald Trump — $2.57

I've got a list that lays out in roughly the same order.  See if you can tell what it's about.

1. Joe Biden (partial term): +15M and counting

2. Barack Obama second term: +10M

3. George Bush second term: +1M

4. Barack Obama first term: +1M

5. Donald Trump: -3M

rubes talk about gas prices as though the president has some sort of magic "cheap gas" button.

for the billionth time: oil and gas are global commodities. the trend of what you pay at the pump is largely effected by global supply and demand issues that a president has little to no control over.

gas goes up in the spring and summer because more people drive, causing higher demand. gas goes down in the winter because people drive less, reducing demand.

when OPEC cuts supply, prices go up.

the only short-term fix is suspension of gas taxes, which will end up reducing funding to maintain roads and infrastructure.

a longer-term helpful fix would be to reduce some of the regulations around creating new refineries. even Trump didn't do that; he tried to rush slapdash legislation through that was held up in court.

also, Trump expanded the ban/moratorium on offshore drilling... so acting like he was all like "DRILL BABY DRILL" is revisionist wishcasting.

Seriously. Do they want communism, a command economy, or something?

In addition gas prices go up every spring when fuel supply switches from winter blend to summer blend. Supply goes down just as demand goes up. Simple economics says prices go up.

Oh more disingenuous jobs data when Trump literally faced a once in a generation pandemic.

Thankfully for Biden, Trump solved that problem for him with the Trump Vaccines (TM) so that Biden voters could pretend like this was actually an accomplishment for Biden.

Too bad Biden couldn't have done the same for Afghanistan, the Middle East, immigration, or pretty much anything else where Trump teed up a win and Biden **** himself.

cheap gasoline nowadays is actually a sign of a poor economy. But let’s not let facts get in the way here.

I'm sorry to hear that, did you have to go without super-sizing your big mac meal? A sleepless night I'm sure because clearly it's gonna be $11 before we know it!

It's over $7 in places in Cali. So $11 doesn't really seem far off. At least in Cali

We've always known socialists want price controls from big daddy government, the only revelation here is that you and the other queefing trumpbots have outed yourselves as socialists too. I mean, we pretty much knew you guys were a buncha commies looking for handouts all along but it's nice to see you finally saying the quiet part loud.

"A 57% increase is right around the corner!"

Not sure how that was funny but 🤷‍♂️

I never gave a timeline. I just said I'd expect to see it happen in Cali because it is over $7

No that would be your ideology

It won’t even come close to your $11/gal even in CA.  That’s what’s funny about it.

Trump somehow gets a pass for the pandemic from you smooth brains, but Biden gets the full blame of its effects.  Newsflash, dumba**, we wouldn't have higher inflation without the pandemic.  We wouldn't have gas prices this high without it either.

Truth is, neither of them gets a pass for either no matter how much you cry about it.  Biden will take the blame for gas prices and Trump will take the blame for hemorrhaging jobs and being the modern day Herbert Hoover.

  It's literally the only thing he did right and it's the one thing his retarded supporters hate about him.

Mf'er released 5K terrorists and walked away and you think he won big on Afghanistan.

I'd like to rename this thread to "Thanks Joe Biden for passing the IRA which gave me 30% off the price of my 20kWh solar system that will be used to power my home and my new Tesla which also had its price reduced $7500 thus allowing me to never have to pay for these awfully high gas prices ever again".

We agree, at some undetermined point in the future, gas wiill be $11/gal in California.
