Best Fin apartment ever, besides the rats.

First thing I thought of was Jon Gruden’s story about asking a custodial worker why there were so many stray cats at the Vet.  And the guy answered, "do you want cats or rats??”

Shouldn’t the linc be welcoming a few rats by now that it’s been almost 20 years?

It sounds ubelievable, but when you think about it, if anyone could survive in that environment, it would be Vietnam vet. I respect the hell out of those guys I'm sure there's some embellishment in his tale, but I don't doubt the basic plot for a second. They truly went to hell and back, which is the case in any war, but for them to come back home to be scorned and ostracized, it just made the mental toll a million times worse. The political and military leadership programmed them to be ruthless animals in Southeast Asia and then did nothing to support and deprogram them for a return to civilian life. They let them face on their own the angry mob that their unjust war had created, while they slinked away like cowards into the comforts of retirement. And I say this as someone who has researched that war pretty thoroughly and consider it to be the most reprehensible military campaign in U.S. history, but I don't blame the troops. Most of them had no choice in the matter, and even those who did, they were systematically manipulated and sold lies that men who knew better but were clever enough to exploit their patriotism in the most reprehensible way. TL;DR F***k McNamara and LBJ. It's tempting to list RFK, too, but at least he capitulated and turned against the war eventually. Most of others were too proud and unscrupulous to admit defeat, willing to destroy the lives and sanity of so many young men just so they could save face in a doomed enterprise.

Yeah...Vietnam gets me going, and you got me on a Friday night. Sorry WU, someone left the back door open from CVON. I started with a relevant thought and then got off on related tangent, haha. I typed all that and almost deleted it, but I wasted too much time on it. Suffice it to say, I'm sure this guy could live off rats, stale beer, and pilfered concessions indefinitely while rappelling between stadium levels to evade detection, maybe even befriend some stadium staff to keep a lower profile, lol.

I agree with you too.  Just seemed like the perfect time to use that gif.  😂

Oh, it was, haha. Also, I just realized it's a Moss thread, so who cares. It was going off the rails sooner or later anyway ^_^

3 years? It’ll take him 6 years to wash the stink of losing off of him.

My kids' school just got cancelled because the F'ing gas company F'ed up and screwed up an F'ing sewage line while they were digging (can't wait for the 811 fine on that).  Sooooooo I now either get to call off tomorrow and hang out with my bored-arse 3-year-old and his 6 week old brother, or get up 90 minutes early to take them to my parents'.....

Can't we just pretend today was Friday? PLEASE?

was it next to the cheerleaders locker-room ?

Only thing I've learned from this thread is we can still count on EaglesRocker to go on an entirely too long political rant that no one will read.

Yea but were you supposed to have today off?

Yeah, they were "professional development" days in my district, so not technically day off but basically a day without students to tie up loose ends.
