I think what most of you forget, is, well, I'd be willing to bet, all of the 50 states on average probably receive .90c for every dollar taxed by DC.  Which is why DC spends probably .05c for every dollar taxed pitting you against red people (or blue people in other cases) so you fight and forget its all a money pit

It's not hard to find. And you're incorrect.

We both know it’s a lie that Delaware gets a bad return.  I was just down there and I know what all the PPP money went to.  Nice stone mason walled parking lots at Wawa.  New Castle County is living it up.  Spending money doesn’t make you Rich, it just makes you poor, but tomorrow.

By the way it says 29 states don’t get a return and 7 do.  Confirms what I’ve been saying.  You don’t get more than 1 from 1.  We sent money over seas in foreign aid.  By definition the states are losing money overall to the Federal Government

You think stone walls at Wawa means Delaware gets lots of federal dollars?

You know what I mean.  Youve driven around there.  There’s no farming, there’s no mining, there’s no factories…  why else does it all look plush and landscaped.  They produce nothing

Because Delaware is a low tax state that attracts a lot of businesses?

I cannot say I know a ton of Delaware's economics, but I've driven on 495 enough to believe there's also a fair bit of manufacturing going on there.

And it has a reasonable tourism industry along the beaches.

Your idea of what makes a "good economy" is a bit outdated.

Anywhere can lower their taxes.  If there’s nothing in the ground…or nothing particularly special about the people… which to me people are people…

A bunch of banks and finance companies are HQ'd in Delaware, and they do a lot of software development there.

This isn't some big secret. Delaware does quite well for a small state. They draw talent from both Philly and Baltimore metro areas, and have a lot of corporate presence.

I know, and what do most people in this country rail against politically?  Corporations.  Left and Right, for different reasons.  And justifiably.  Delaware is the beneficiary of some of the fascism.   But lately as they’ve realized I’m sure that the fascism is failing, they’ve turned to socialism to save them.  In any case, they produce nothing that couldn’t be produced anywhere else if anywhere else wanted to start a new fascist state, fresh to move in.  And the weather isn’t even that great.

Corporations can be a positive if they raise everyone’s quality of life.  I think you can make the argument that they have in America.  Unrestrained though, they can be dangerous to society.

"According to the 2017 Census of Agriculture, Delaware had 2,302 farms that produced $1.5 billion in agricultural sales. That works out to an average of $637,000 per farm and ranks Delaware second in the nation behind California in per farm sales! Delaware ranks No. 1 nationally in the value of agricultural sales per farmland acre at $2,791 and also ranks No. 1 for lima bean acreage with nearly a third of the nation’s acreage.”

Well, this may in fact be the most ridiculous discussion in CVON since…well, probably not that long ago. But it’s still bananas.

Delaware brings in a ton of corporate taxes.  I think two-thirds of our state revenue is corporate taxes.  Corporations willingly pay taxes here because we have the Chancery Court, which specializes in business law and is favorable to corporations.  Every once in a while there's a high-profile corporate case, like Disney and Tesla in the last few years.

They don't though. And you can measure this by the amount of money the Federal Reserve has been printing the last decade...decades

You can't measure the benefits of Fascism as easily as just counting $$$.  Laws create advantages that you won't see in a bank account transaction list

You guys are doing this to yourself. The best way to handle this is to throw a couple insults calling him stupid and then move on to the nest thread.
