Excellent post. Clearly, not all Southerners are racist. To me it's just the ones that Waive the Confederate Flag that so many people find offensive, and which we fought a war to defeat. Clearly the big cities are more diverse. It's the Red Counties where you'll find the flag waivers the most. They are also the ones, that object to removing Robert E. Lee Statute for the most part.

I never understood this claim, "overall southern culture". What Southern Culture are they proud of?  I mean from 1776 to 1865 they owned slaves. Then after that it was Jim Crow and Segregation that lasted from 1865 until 1965 or there about. Since 1965 those attitudes haven't changed much. Maybe they aren't as in your face as they used to be, but over the last 4 years it's been making a come back. It appears that Trumplicans accept those attitudes today.

Now today as in 1960's blacks have to fight for their right to vote. Trumplicans believe that we don't have the right to vote and they are therefore free to restrict blacks from voting while Dems want the right to vote made easier for all citizens.

I believe that many hold the same attitudes that were expressed in the Cornerstone Speech.

Southern culture like country music, rural life and outdoor activities like hunting and fishing, pickup trucks, beer/whiskey, family values, southern food/gatherings, southern hospitality like being polite and serving guests.

Most regions in the US have some unique cultural and social components to them.

You're drawing way too many through lines without basis.

Either way that dude probably dies in a cage where he belongs. Life's over for him too.

Mushrooms don’t make you walk up to a 1 year old child and point a gun at him any more than alcohol does. You have to be a violent lunatic to do these sorts of things.

This is a great point because the situations are so similar.

Why is it that Trumplicans don't want schools to teach about White Supremacy and White racism? As if it never existed in U.S. History. I guess slavery is too taboo a subject to teach the truth.

Those White Taskmasters loved them damn N*****s so Much. That's what the South would have you believe. They were treated better as slaves, then they are today as, Free Folk.

Maybe Mr. Candy was right. The 3 dimples inside the skull shows how lazy, unaggressive and submissive they really are. Time to crack open some skulls and see if he is right.

Little bit of a difference between kneeling on someone who is resisting arrest and walking up to a random infant child and pointing a gun at him. Just a tiny, little bit. Smidgen of a difference. Microscopic, really.

Sure. Only one gets 'psychotic lunatic' from the likes of you.

Because only one behavior is that of a psychotic lunatic.

They are not the same, Toast. Attempting to murder a random 1 year old in cold blood is different than a cop dealing with a suspect who is resisting arrest.

Does this really need to be explained to you?

And here I thought the thread about Afghanistan was where the best hot takes were

I could counter that a person TRAINED to administer violence,  tasked to protect and serve, who does so in this fashion, is even more cold blooded than the random shooter.

You could argue that, but that would be even dumber than trying to equate the cold blooded assassination of a 1 year old child with the unintentional death of a suspect during an arrest.
