And more intelligent than both of them combined.

Mentoring by avoiding the question asked in the post?  okay.  That's some fine mentoring on how to duck and dodge.

Failure to Obey and Assault on a Police Officer. Also something about a previous incident, "concerning statements" (does that mean threats?) LINK

UPDATE: Suspicious Vehicle Investigation

October 5, 2021
Press Release

The United States Capitol Police arrested a man after he illegally parked in front of the Supreme Court and refused leave.

In August, the same man came to the Capitol Complex and made concerning statements.

The man, who has been identified as 55-year old Dale Paul Melvin of Kimball, MI (DOB: 9/4/66), was arrested for Failure to Obey and Assault on a Police Officer.

"I would like to express my appreciation for all of our officers as well as the Supreme Court Police officers,” said Deputy Chief Jason Bell of the USCP’s Operational Services Bureau. "Everybody did an outstanding job to keep our Congressional Campus safe.”

At approximately 9:30 am, USCP officers saw Melvin’s illegally parked Chevy Tahoe in front of the Supreme Court.

The suspect appeared to be frustrated, refused to talk to our officers, and said, "The time for talking is done.”

Officers cleared the area out of an abundance of caution.

USCP crisis negation officers tried to speak with the suspect, but he refused to talk.

At approximately 11:00 am, the USCP Containment and Emergency Response Team, which is similar to a SWAT team pulled the man from the SUV.

The vehicle is still being searched, but so far no weapons have been found.

At this time, we do not expect additional news releases about this arrest.

I feel like he needs to go to the loony bin.

he was just there to do do some meandering.

From the holy-eff-liberals-are-stupid-and-evil file:

These people are beneath contempt. Utterly disgusting.

The Mississippi AG defending her state's abortion ban is straight loony.  Empowering women by giving away their freedom? Women must get their support from friends, family, and employers? Huh? It doesn't sound empowering at all.

If Roe v. Wade is overturned (sounding more and more likely), could states make it a felony to cross state lines to get an abortion?

Most people support abortion so if it overturned dems could turn it into a positive and get more people to vote but they will screw it up, their messaging on things is horrible

i bet some would try.

something like 2/3 of americans do not want roe v wade overturned....repugs have to tread lightly or risk energizing dem turnout in the mid-terms.

Let's hope they overturn it.  It would end the GOP.

I think the best pro-choice argument is to keep the government out of medical decisions between a mother and doctor and appeal to the libertarian aspect of conservatism.

I think attempts to ban abortion backfire and go about it the wrong route.  There are a lot of people personally against abortion and believe it is murder, but I just don't see it ever being banned.

I think it would probably be more effective to focus on birth control and avoiding unwanted pregnancy in the first place like the big marketing push in the 90s to avoid getting and spreading HIV.  Promote education, birth control, adoption information and resources, etc.  Try to at least reduce the amount of unwanted pregnancies, and convince people morally that it's not a clump of cells but a life, while also having compassion for women that struggle with the decision.  But it won't ever fully go away and banning it will just create unhealthy and unsafe methods or people finding a way to get it elsewhere somehow.

But the good news for all those supporting abortion laws is that you are not alone.  The Satanic Temple has challenged the new Texas abortion law too!

The Satanic Temple challenges new Texas abortion law citing religious freedom

The group, recognized as a church by the IRS, says the Texas Religious Freedom Restoration Act bans government from infringing on religion.

HOUSTON — The Satanic Temple is challenging the new Texas law that bans abortion after roughly six weeks and allows private citizens to sue providers and collect a bounty.

The Massachusetts-based organization, which is tax-exempt and describes itself as a "non-theistic church," argues its members in Texas should be exempt from Senate Bill 8 under the Texas Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which bans government from infringing on religion.

"The Satanic Temple stands ready to assist any member that shares its deeply-held religious convictions regarding the right to reproductive freedom,” wrote the group on its website. "Accordingly, we encourage any member who resides in Texas and wishes to undergo the Satanic Abortion Ritual within the first 24 weeks of pregnancy to contact The Satanic Temple so we may help them fight this law directly.”

One of the seven beliefs on the Satanic Temple’s website reads, "One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.”

Another says, "Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one’s beliefs.”

According to its website, the Temple and its members don't believe in the "existence of Satan or the supernatural" despite its name.

The group’s legal counsel sent a letter August 31 to the Food and Drug Administration calling on members to have access to abortion pills, which they say are used "in a sacramental setting."

The letter cites the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which was created to allow Native Americans access to peyote for religious rituals.

Lucien Greaves, the group’s co-founder and spokesperson, said in a statement, "We will not be intimidated into silence by an unjust law or an authoritarian state government. We intend to fight.”

The organization has previously challenged other abortion laws, including in Texas.

Leaders of Texas Right to Life, a pro-life group whose website to anonymously report violators of SB 8 was taken down over the weekend, vowed to keep fighting.

"Texas Right to Life is undeterred and we’re undaunted, and we’re gonna continue to help pregnant woman,” said Elizabeth Graham, Vice President of Texas Right to Life, on Saturday.

KHOU reached out to the FDA for a statement Monday. According to their website, the press office is closed on federal holidays, which includes Labor Day.

On Monday afternoon, that website, prolifewhistleblower.com, re-directed to the group's main page.

 nobody in that picture is at any risk of an abortion...ain't nobody Fing them.
