Interesting., Or another, more accurate way of putting it would be that the Army's already watered down test that was designed to be easier for females needs additional tweaking and even more watering down because birthing people are still struggling. Some highlights: Quote The Army remains in a beta phase for the ACFT. Until March 2022, scores on the test will not affect soldiers' careers; officials have said they may implement additional changes before then, including gender-specific standards. The most difficult event for both male and female soldiers is the two-mile run, with 5% and 22% failing, respectively. The run must be completed within 21 minutes. While the previous Army fitness test's two-mile run actually had a more challenging minimum passing time for most age groups, the ACFT's run takes place after five physically draining events, adding another level of difficulty. The pass rate for women is up 12% from last year, yet enlisted women continue to struggle the most, with a 53% fail rate. Female officers have only a 23% fail rate, but that's still significantly higher than the fail rate for men, enlisted or officer. The data attributed most of that progress to a change in late March that added a two-minute plank as an alternative to leg tucks. FORSCOM found 22% of women failed the plank, a substantial decrease from the average 41% fail rate for the leg tuck. The pass rate for men went up by 1%. The ACFT's impact on women has caught the attention of lawmakers. Last year, Congress passed a measure halting the implementation of the test until an assessment independent of the Pentagon is complete on its impact on recruiting and retention. lol clown worldening of military intensifies.

If the alternatives are simply being put in place to pass more women through the system, then that's asinine. I don't think it's realistic to expect the average female to demonstrate the same degree of physical strength/endurance as the average male, but it is reasonable to think that some women are atypical and can compete with the average male in some areas of strength and conditioning. So, like we see in the Tweet, a lot of women are still failing at a much higher rate than men (as one would expect), but there are some clearing the bar, so they are apparently fit to serve. As long as the standards are essentially equal, it should be a fair way to whether an individual is physically capable of the job. This should ultimately be based on performance, but I'm not opposed to offering alternative ways to demonstrate fitness, as long as the alternatives are recognized by fitness experts as essentially equivalent.

Um, yeah, you basically just reiterated your initial point rather than reading the article that admits they've already lowered standards and are considering more changes for the specific purpose of allowing birthing persons to pass at a higher rate. So, no, you don't need to refer to it as some hypothetical that you don't agree with. They've lowered standards and will consider lowering them even more to boost pass rates.

I will read the article, just haven't had much time to do so yet. If they are really doing this simply make it easier for women in a way that actually lowers the quality of the fitness test, I am against it. But, yeah, "birthing people"
