Sinclair, according to The Smoking Gun, entered a Chase branch with his hand under his shirt making "the shape of a gun with his finger," arrest records said. He advised teller Desiree Stefanik not to "push any buttons" as he waited for her to hand over the loot. Sinclair got away with only $120 and was arrested shortly after the incident.

Why? Do they have a say in what math is taught? The goal should be a quality education, not a sanitized version approved by somebody's church, or their maiden aunt with her nose in everyone else's business.

The female deputy then pointed to a fellow deputy when Hodges asked for a supervisor.

The supervising deputy reaffirmed the other deputy's suspicions and again asked Hodges for his identification.

Hodges responded:

"But now she’s verified that I am not armed."

Hodges refused to provide ID, saying he had not been officially detained and had not been accused of or suspected of committing a crime.

Hodges was then handcuffed.

While handcuffed, Hodges repeatedly asked the deputies for their names and badge numbers. He also explained he walked in the dark that morning to get to jury duty on time, hence why he was carrying his cane but did not need to use it in the daylight.

His words fell on deaf ears and the supervisor issued the following instructions to his fellow deputies:

"You know what?"

"Put him in jail for resisting."

It's actually Floridas backwards gun laws that are to blame here. Officers are allowed to stop you if they think they see a firearm and it's a crime if you carry open. Printing counts as open carry in Florida.

The fact that they arrested him AFTER finding out it was his cane is what disturbs me.
