Florida man stabs, kills his brother's friend after he wasn't given chance to smoke weed, Volusia deputies say

DELTONA, Fla. - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office released a new video showing deputies arresting a suspect accused of stabbing a 21-year-old man to death following an argument over marijuana.

Joseph McDonald, 31, of Deltona, is facing a charge of first-degree murder and will be held in jail without bond, authorities said.

Deputies said a witness and the victim went to their friend's house on Glenridge Terrace Sunday morning to smoke marijuana. Their friend was not there, but his brother, McDonald, was.

Officials said McDonald let them into the home but eventually became angry when he was not given a chance to smoke and threatened to kill the victim.

The witness said he was in the garage when an argument began to escalate between McDonald and the victim. He heard the two fighting inside the home and shortly after, the victim came outside bleeding from his abdomen, asking for someone to call 911.

He was rushed to a hospital where he died.  At the hospital, an examination of the victim's body revealed he had been stabbed.

McDonald left the area but was later spotted around 1:15 p.m. coming out of the brush along Newmark Drive, about three miles from the crime scene. McDonald was found bleeding with an injury to his left hand, which hospital officials said appeared to be lacerations from a sharp object.

Investigators learned McDonald had been living at the home for about two months and had been experiencing "significant mental illness" for multiple years.

New College students withdrew in big numbers after state overhaul, reports say

While overall enrollment is up, numbers show many students who were on campus last year are gone.

Shocking that Florida being anti-reading, anti-book, anti-education, and anti-gay would have any effect on students.

Florida Woman Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Mother’s Car, Running Her Over

A Florida woman was arrested after allegedly beating up her mother and stealing her car following an argument.

Last Thursday afternoon, 25-year-old Amber Scheuren-Rusnak reportedly had a heated argument with her mom in Cocoa, Florida, during which she physically assaulted her. After the altercation, Scheuren-Rusnak is accused of stealing her mother’s car and striking her with it.

A witness called 911 to report the incident, and police arrived to find Scheuren-Rusnak’s mother injured. She was subsequently taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition. The exact cause of their argument remains unclear.

Scheuren-Rusnak left the scene in her mother’s car, which was later found abandoned. Brevard County Sheriff’s Office officers, along with a K-9 unit, were able to track down Scheuren-Rusnak as she attempted to hide nearby.

She was taken into custody and charged with aggravated battery and carjacking, according to FOX 35 Orlando. The Cocoa Police Department also told the station that additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.

This incident marks Scheuren-Rusnak’s 10th arrest since 2018 and her fourth arrest this year. Her previous charges include domestic battery, drug possession, prostitution, and battery.

She looks possessed by the Devil.

What a Maroon. Florida Man flashes gun.

‘Agitated’ man flashed gun at driver, not realizing it was Florida trooper, cops say

A suspected case of road rage took an unexpected turn when the victim proved to be a cool-headed state trooper, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

It happened Sunday, Oct. 29, just before 4 p.m. on Polk Parkway in the Lakeland area, and the trooper was off duty and with his family, highway patrol said in a news release. Lakeland is about 35 miles northeast of Tampa.

"Caught in slow-moving traffic, a driver in a red Chevy pickup became agitated and began focusing his attention on the trooper,” highway patrol said.

"As traffic cleared, the suspect drove alongside the trooper’s vehicle, speeding up and slowing down, yelling and using hand gestures. The trooper ignored the suspect; however, the suspect slowed again and displayed a compact style firearm, eventually pointing the weapon at the trooper.”

The trooper, who was not identified, reported the encounter to Florida Highway Patrol and a search was launched.

Investigators say the vehicle was eventually found at the 32-year-old driver’s home in Auburndale, about 11 miles east of Lakeland. He was identified as Matthew Timothy Reiter.

Reiter was arrested and troopers "located five different firearms,” officials said. He is charged with "three counts each of unlawful display of a weapon and aggravated assault with a weapon,” officials said.

Sounds like they handle a lot solvents, there are a lot of nasty ones used in normal processes everyday.

"The "plant explosion" and following chemical fire unfolded Wednesday morning at Sound Resource Solutions, which makes solvents for glue and paint remover, the San Jacinto County Office of Emergency Management said.”

Texas produces twice as much methane as better regulated neighbor, study finds

Data shared with Guardian reveals Texas oil and gas fields emitting far more methane than New Mexico, feeding calls for stiffer rules

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/nov/08/texas-methane-oil-and-gas-study-climate

This is due to the deregulated energy business being so much better, more efficient, and cheaper, than what they use in New Mexico.
