May 10, 20205 yr Worked on my lighting project yesterday, my ceiling is now swiss cheese. Spoiler The switch box is an old work one. Thats because dummy here smashed the new work box with a hammer and had to make due with what I had laying around
May 10, 20205 yr the recessed lights hanging out and some open holes makes it look like whack-a-mole on the ceiling. I like it.
May 16, 20205 yr Mrs HE is back to work. Im gonna pick up a new hose cause mine it's leaky. Also gonna pick up the kids who stayed at their Grammys for 2 nights. Probably enjoy a quiet lunch myself before I do that though. Probably clean out the AC units in the house so we can fire them up when ready. Then maybe a little outside work. Might use the new hose to spray the yard with some bug stuff to keep ticks away. Then maybe just chillaxing. Let the kids play outside, maybe go for a walk in the hood with them.
May 16, 20205 yr Got off fairly easy on the remodel so now Im kicking back, listening to the ocean with a vodka soda. Oh, and took a mondo dook too.
May 16, 20205 yr Went to the Mint Hill, NC hardware store and bought my 70th bag of mulch in the last 3 weeks. They actually acknowledged it and thanked me. Pine bark nuggets everywhere in our front and backyard. Thinking about adding stones/rocks to surround all of the nuggets. Adding this last sentence to the mom quote thread ASAP.

May 17, 20205 yr Cleaned up the yard, put out new lights and then decided it was time to watch an Eagles game. I watched Carson's first regular season game - vs the Browns. Decided this required tailgate food. Hot sausage and cheddar biscuits. The second batch (on the left) I brushed with melted butter that had Tobasco and cayenne pepper in it. Right before they were done. Just as they were turning brown.
May 18, 20205 yr It's Saturday today, right? Had some bike parts come in so washed the truck, the wife's car and the bike, then put on my floorboards Before After Hopefully the rest of the parts I ordered get here tomorrow so I have something to do for tomorrows Saturday.....

May 22, 20205 yr For today's Saturday, I put the rest of the shiny parts on my bike and then went for a ride. Came home and made a jalapeno watermelon bourbon cocktail.
May 23, 20205 yr Author Today is not Saturday But my kids got me the newest donkey Kong game. Brutal side scroller, loving it so far
May 23, 20205 yr Just got home from a quick turkey hunt this morning. Now it is time to pack up the camper to go camping in my parents' back yard for the weekend. Sucks thinking this could be the last time I spend time with my dad and I won't even be able to give him a hug or sit next to him on the couch.

While waking up I decided to watch a youtube video or two to just remind myself good technique since its been 2 years. An older lady in her 50's showed me I've been doing it backwards all this time. Cut the patch first, outline the hole in the wall with it and a sharpie, then cut the hole to match the patch. This whole time I've been trying to cut the patch to match the hole. I would spend a good 20 minutes trimming it to try to get it to fit (and maybe 15% of the time rip the paper so I'd have to start over).
May 23, 20205 yr Today is yardwork and outside projects day. Hoping to be sitting poolside by 3pm at the latest.
May 23, 20205 yr Gonna finish up spreading out the rest of the pine bark nuggets in the backyard around the shed. I can't believe I just typed that sentence. Also, I never understood why people get mulch delivered in a truck until now. I've bought over 50 bags in the past 5 weeks, and we don't have a truck.
May 23, 20205 yr Cut the grass, patched up spots in the yard with grass seed and fertilizer, built a campfire wood rack and filled it all before 2pm. Chilled in the pool with the kids for a couple of hours and now currently making homemade burgers for dinner.
