PUT YOUR NAME ON IT — 2021 NFL DRAFT

Who would you have taken? First 3 rounds only. You edit later to add other rounds if you’d like.

Would you have traded from 12 to 10? If so, you lose the extra 3rd rounder. If not, then you have to assume DeVonta Smith would be off the board.

We do have the benefit of hindsight, but try to be honest about what your thoughts were in real time.

MY PICKS

#10 - DeVonta Smith WR Alabama

#36 - Trevon Moehrig S TCU

#70 - Daviyon Nixon DT Iowa

When we traded up I was terrified the QB factory was going to strike again with the pick being Mac Jones or Justin Fields. Glad it was Devonta Smith.

10. Devonta Smith

37. Trevon Moehrig, but not as upset as others with Dickerson

70. Ifeatu Melifonwu

123. Shaun Wade - I’m desperate pfor an outside CB

10 Devonta Smith

37 Moehrig  (but I actually like the Dickerson pick too)

70 CB Robinson (and don't trade back)

I am really only bothered by the Williams pick.   I actually watched him in a few games this year.   He didn't really stand out at all to me.

Time to load up on some corners that will probably never make the roster.

1. Devonta Smith

2. Landon Dickerson - I wanted Tyson Campbell or Jevon Holland but obviously they we drafted right before Dickerson so I am ok with this.

3. Paulson Adebo

yall say what you want but I think Howie and the scouts did a solid job with this draft all the way down the board. I give it a B+ maybe an A-

For the purposes of the exercise I will assume Howie never calls Jerry (even though the Eagles wish list in Round 1 was apparently Surtain, then Smith).  DAL still turns down the CHI trade and takes Parsons at 10, Giants take Devonta Smith at #11, and Howie gets the call from CHI to trade up for a QB at #12.  The choice would likely be take Slater at #12 because he can play OT or OG, or trade back to #20 and pocket another 2022 1st.

At #12 I would have done:

12 — Rashawn Slater

37 — Trevon Moehrig

70 — Ifeatu Melifonwu

84 - Nico Collins

Trade back to #20 I would have done:

20 — Rashod Bateman

37 — Trevon Moehrig

70 — Ifeatu Melifonwu

84 — Wyatt Davis

For me, I would have traded back with the Bears — a few of us raised the possibility of what the Eagles should do if a QB was still on the board at #12.

For the record, Howie did the right thing.  I didn’t like giving up pick #84 to trade up, but Howie would have been roasted for letting the Giants take Devonta Smith in front of him, especially if his choice at #20 (Bateman, Toney, etc.) had a 2021 season like Reagor did last year.  The Eagles need a prolific WR in the worst way.
