Who’s going to cover Kyle Pitts in his NFL debut? We’ll worry about that in September. This will be the fourth time the Eagles open a season with the Falcons since 2005. They lost at the Georgia Dome in 2005 and 2015 and won at the Linc in 2018. The Eagles are 8-2 in their last 10 openers but have lost three straight in Atlanta, most recently in 2019 at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Overall, the Eagles are 8-9 in Atlanta, with their most recent win coming in 2009 by a 34-7 score highlighted by Sheldon Brown’s 83-yard INT return touchdown off Chris Redman. Overall, the Eagles are 20-15-1 all-time vs. Atlanta.

The Eagles, 10-13 in their last 23 home openers, have won five of the last seven meetings against the 49ers, including an October game in Santa Clara last year, one of Carson Wentz’s three wins in 2020. The Eagles are only 5-10-1 all-time vs. the 49ers in Philadelphia, but they’ve won three of the last four, including a 33-10 win during the nine-game winning streak in 2017 on Wentz TD passes to Zach Ertz and Alshon Jeffery. Overall, the 49ers are 19-14-1 vs. the Eagles in a series dating back to 1951.

The Eagles and Cowboys meet on Monday night for the first time since the Cowboys’ 41-37 win at Texas Stadium in 2008. They’ve met on Sunday nights 13 times since then. Overall, the Eagles are 5-7 vs. the Cowboys on Monday night and 12-14 in primetime. The Eagles have lost three straight at AT&T Stadium, including a 27-point loss in 2019 and a 20-point loss last year. The Eagles’ last win in Dallas was 37-9 on two Carson Wentz TD passes and 91 rushing yards by Jay Ajayi during that stretch in 2017 when they were killing everybody. The Eagles are 24-40 all-time in Dallas but 12-10 since 2000. Overall, the Eagles are just 10-15 in their last 25 games against the Cowboys, and they haven’t swept Dallas since 2011.

Andy Reid returns to Philly for the first time since 2013, his first season in Kansas City, when the Chiefs beat Chip Kelly’s Eagles 26-16 on a Thursday night at the Linc. The Chiefs won the last meeting, 27-20, at Arrowhead in 2017. The Eagles are 1-2 all-time at home vs. the Chiefs, winning 34-14 in 2009 when Reid was the Eagles’ coach. Kevin Kolb threw for 327 yards that day and DeSean Jackson and Brent Celek both went over 100 yards with a TD catch. Overall, the Eagles are 4-4 vs. the Chiefs. Pat Mahomes has never faced the Eagles.

The Eagles return to Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte for the first time since 2017, when they beat the Panthers 28-23 on a Thursday night on three TD passes by Carson Wentz, two to Zach Ertz and one to Nelson Agholor. The teams last met in 2018 when the Eagles blew a 17-0 4th-quarter lead and lost 21-17 at the Linc. The Eagles are 7-5 all-time vs. the Panthers and 3-2 in Charlotte. DeVonta Smith vs. Jaycee Horn should be a fun matchup.

The Super Bowl champs come to Philly on a Thursday night looking for their third straight win over the Eagles. The Bucs won the last meeting in Tampa, 27-21 in 2018, and the last meeting at the Linc, 45-17, in 2015. The Eagles are 10-9 overall vs. the Bucs and 6-5 in Philly, but they’ve lost three of the last four matchups in Philly, including the 2002 NFC Championship Game. Last time the Eagles beat the Bucs in Philly was 33-14 in 2009, with Jeremy Maclin racking up 142 yards and two TDs. Tom Brady is 5-2 vs. the Eagles, including a loss in Super Bowl LII. The Eagles are 16-5 on Thursdays, including six straight wins.

Last time the Eagles faced the Raiders on the road was 2013, when Nick Foles tied the NFL single-game record with seven touchdown passes in Oakland. This will be the Eagles’ first trip to Las Vegas and Allegiant Stadium. The Eagles are 7-6 all-time vs. the Raiders and 2-4 on the road. The Eagles have won the last two meetings since a 13-9 Raiders win in Oakland in 2009 in the seventh and final career win for JaMarcus Russell, the first overall pick in 2007.

A battle of rookie head coaches at Ford Field, where the Eagles are 2-2, including losses in 2015 on Thanksgiving and 2016. Their last win in Detroit was in 2010 on Michael Vick TD passes to DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin and 135 rushing yards by LeSean McCoy. Overall, the Eagles are 17-16-2 vs. the Lions and 7-6-2 in Detroit, but they’ve lost the last three meetings and last beat the Lions in 2013 at the Linc on Shady’s historic 217-yard game in the show.

The Eagles and Chargers meet for the first time since 2017, when Eagles fans took over the Chargers’ temporary home at StubHub Center in Carson, California. LeGarrette Blount ran for 136 yards that day, and the Eagles won 26-24. This is the first meeting in Philly since the Chargers won 33-30 in 2013. The Eagles are 5-7 all-time vs. the Chargers and 3-2 in Philadelphia, where their most recent win was 20-17 in 2005 – the last game Terrell Owens played at the Linc as an Eagle. The Eagles won when Matt Ware returned a field goal blocked by Quintin Mikell 65 yards for a 4th-quarter touchdown.

This will be only the Eagles’ third trip to Denver in the last 23 years, and they’ll be trying to win in Denver for the first time since 1989, when Randall Cunningham threw TD passes to Jimmie Giles and Cris Carter and Keith Byars had two rushing TDs in a 28-24 win. The Eagles are 8-5 overall vs. the Broncos and 2-4 in Denver. The last matchup was a 51-23 Eagles win at the Linc during the 2017 nine-game winning streak. This is the Eagles’ final trip of the year that involves air travel.

The Saints return to the Linc for a second straight year for the first time since 1991 and 1992. The Saints won 10 of their last 12 games last year, with the two losses coming to Mahomes and Jalen Hurts. The Eagles are 18-15 all-time vs. the Saints and 10-4 in Philly, but the Saints are 7-3 in the last 10, including playoff wins after the 2006, 2013 and 2018 seasons. The Eagles have won five of the last six regular-season matchups in Philadelphia going back to 1992.

The Eagles are 8-3 at MetLife Stadium after going 23-15 at Giants Stadium (vs. the Giants). Going back to 1974, they’re 36-18 on the road against the Giants (after winning just 10 of their first 41). Despite a 27-17 loss in East Rutherford last year the Eagles are 11-3 in their last 14 games at the Meadowlands. The Eagles lead the all-time series 89-87-2 after trailing 60-46-2 going into the 1988 season. The Eagles have won 21 of the last 25 overall matchups against the Giants.

The Eagles take on Zach Wilson and the Jets with an 11-0 all-time record vs. the Jets, including a 6-0 mark in East Rutherford. The Eagles won the last meeting, 31-6, at the Meadowlands in the second and final start of Luke Falk’s NFL career. The Eagles have held the Jets to fewer than 20 points in five straight matchups, and the Jets have scored just eight offensive touchdowns in the last six games against the Eagles.

The Eagles begin their stretch of four division games to finish the season against Ron Rivera’s Washington Football Team. This is only the third time in franchise history they’ll finish with four division opponents. They finished 1988 3-1 against all-NFC East teams and closed 2019 4-0, all within the division. The Eagles trail 88-80-6 in a series that dates back to 1934, when the Washington Football Team was based in Boston. The Eagles are just 8-8 at home vs. the WFT.

The Eagles are going for their franchise-record eighth straight home win over the Giants. The Eagles haven’t lost to the Giants at the Linc since 2013, when Michael Vick got hurt in the second quarter and Matt Barkley replaced him. The Eagles’ last five home wins over the Giants have been by an average of 3 ½ points. Sixteen of the last 19 times the Eagles swept the Giants they went on to the postseason. The Eagles are 49-38-1 all-time in Philadelphia vs. the Giants and 13-6 at the Linc.

The Eagles are 14-10 at FedExField since it opened in 1997. That’s already more wins than they had in the 36 years Washington played at RFK, where the Eagles went 12-21-3 from 1961 through 1996. In all, the Eagles are 39-45-3 in Washington (and Boston and Landover), with more than half the wins (20) coming since 1989 in a series that dates back to 1934. Washington swept the Eagles last year after the Eagles swept Washington the three previous years. Washington recorded sweeps the two years before that, which means there hasn’t been a split in the series since 2014.

The Eagles finish the regular season looking for their third straight home win over the Cowboys, something they haven’t done since they won six straight from 1999 through 2004. Overall, the Cowboys have won five of the last seven against the Eagles and 11 of the last 18. The Eagles haven’t swept the Cowboys since 2011. The only Eagles quarterbacks to beat the Cowboys twice in a season are Randall Cunningham and Donovan McNabb (three times each) and Sonny Jurgensen and Michael Vick once each. The Eagles are 30-30 all-time vs. the Cowboys in Philadelphia. This will be the seventh time in the last 14 years the Eagles finish a regular season against the Cowboys.
