PS

He is a big project. He cant break off press, not good at tracking, poor route running and avg hands.

Yes hes a 5th rounder but you have to look at more then just speed at this point. Hes honestly going only after speed.

But hes really Fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cant see anyone not liking this pick. Can’t wait to read all the comments hating it.

Excellent pick.  This guy was a 4th round pick on most of the mocks I saw.  I’d have been happy with him at #146

Weird. ESPN just said he tracks the ball well just not aggressive in attacking the ball.

I like him. Someone just needs to coach him up. Hes a project.

Not listening to ESPN analysis is usually the best policy lol

He gets deep, is a fluid runner, a bit of a body catcher, but I’d say he’s a better athlete than Agholor was.  I’m actually confident he makes the 53 as a rookie

Well it’s the sixth round so yea.

He has more catches and yards last year than our first rounder. 🤣

If anyone takes the time to look at videos this kid catches a lot of misthrown balls and contested balls. Easy to read 1 freaking line and cry and moan but look at film your eyes don't lie  on BOTH the wideouts we drafted , BOTH kids climb the ladder and get a lot of balls.

If he can play Special Teams than yeah he probably will.

Was 1 in the top 3 rounds not enough?

IMO, no it was not enough. Because of the uncertainty surrounding both Alshon and Desean, I think the Eagles needed to add 1 WR at each of the 3 starting positions (X.slot,Z.) I thought they'd get 1 on FA and 2 in the draft. When they failed to do so in FA, I felt they forced themselves to get 2 early in the draft and maybe even a 3rd WR. They could've gone WR,WR,WR and I would've understood why. Alshon likely not back until December and DJAX misses games every year. they had 3 realistic options to rebuild the WR corps.

1. Trade for Hopkins & draft one in the 3rd.

2. trade for Lamb and draft one in the third.

3. Draft Reagor (no trade needed), Mims (no trade needed), and Duvernay (little trade up).

Any of those options would helped Carson more than what we see now, which was their stated intent, to help him.

Instead, they drafted his injury replacement and want to become a QB factory? Whatever.

Case in point that production in college is a horrible way to grade a player.

Context matters for production.

Agreed.

Stop. 1st through 3rd rounds offered guys with both traits (speed and hands). Eagles were in position to get 3 of them but chose not to.

Who was there at 103 that had great hands and speed. I have already said they blew the Hurts pick.

Didn't have enough ammo to trade for Hopkins. We didn't have a David Johnson to give up. Lamb was a possibility but takes two to tango. Reagor is the guy. Still have to see what we have in JJaw, Ward is good in the slot, still drafted another developmental WR.

A small trade up in the 3rd ahead of Baltimore at 92 would've got them Duvernay.

I asked who was there at 103, not what fantasy trade with 20/20 hindsight knowing who went where you could come up with. This isn't the mock draft simulator or X-box where you can just pick whatever trade up you feel like doing.

I like Reagor a lot. I view him as playing Desean's position. That left the X and slot wide open for an addition. Mims in the 2nd and Duvernay in the 3rd would've provided one of each. Now we have redundancy at Z, JJAW at X and Ward in the slot. Things could've been better.

Well I'm sure they want another shot at coaching up JJaw. Ward has pretty good hands and athleticism. They literally just need a couple of speedsters to work out enough to scare folks to open up things over the middle for out monster TEs and to open things up more for our beast RB

I know you couched your question that way to get the response you wanted which is why you glossed over the 2nd round pick. Trades happen when a player is targeted. That's reality, not fantasy. I would've targeted him and the calls would've began at the 65th pick until I got a partner. I valued him that highly. It's not hindsight, it's what I've been saying since last fall.

Whatever, you win the he wasn't here at 103, so you can't get him argument. Still could've had Mims in the 2nd.

I know there were a few tate bloggers talking this guy up pre draft.

Hes not my favorite, mainly because i hate watching film of guys on that smurf turf, its un settling.

Having said that this guy is fast. Hes not very physical and has spotty hands but hands and physicality can be improved, cant teach speed.

Much chance he makes the roster? I'd say slim given the Goodwin trade?

Depends on his performance in whatever workouts and camp they can get in. They got Goodwin for only a swap of 6th rounders, so I can't see Goodwin being a lock.

I think Goodwin might be out if he doesn't flash. Isn't he set to earn 4 million next year?

I like Watkins more than Hightower I think...
