April 28, 20205 yr I think it's down to Hightower and Watkins for one roster spot. Perhaps the other makes it to the PS. Hightower looks like a more versatile WR. He also looks a lot bigger even though they are listed similarly. Watkins definitely looks faster though and he catches the ball with his hands where as Hightower lets it get to his body. Should be a very interesting situation / camp battle to monitor. It's pretty much a coin flip in my opinion, and if you can develop one of these guys into a 3rd or 4th WR it's a huge win.

I hope both make it but I know that's unlikely. I think both bring something to the team potentially and I'd like to see how they do in real NFL action.

Though I’d rather they both beat out Goodwin who I think is a stiff. Djax, Reagor, JJaw, Ward, Hightower, Watkins would be my 6 with Jeffery possibly returning from IR.

Hopefully, the new receivers coach can develop these guys into guys who can contribute.... Nah. Both Watkins and Hightower are already leagues above Hollins and Gibson when they came out. They are faster (both clocked and in game speed) and they both have better route running and hands. Either one of Watkins or Hightower would have been at least 3rd round picks in the drafts that Hollins and Gibson came out.

I don't care what round they were drafted in.....plenty of high draft pick receivers don't pan out. Hopefully, they can get coached up.....

April 28, 20205 yr I don’t see Arcega-Whiteside as a lock to make the team, tbh. I think he most likely does, but I don’t think it’s a lock.

Is Hightower suited for X or Big slot?

I think the Eagles are going to begin to move their receivers around. So your traditional X usually would be a bigger guy like JJAW but the Eagles will probably try different guys out there...Reagor...and maybe both Hightower and Watkins...all depends on what they look like in camp, scheme, etc They will probably get looks at, at Z in certain packages as well. I think all 3 are capable of playing slot in the Eagles offense and they will probably have looks there as well. Too early to tell at this point and we really don’t know what these guys look like in the Eagles offense until camp....and that’s probably one of the reasons they are bringing in so many guys this year.

A bunch of our WRs are already rocking numbers in the 10s (Jackson - 10, Jeffrey - 17, Arcega-Whiteside 19, Davis 14). Several already have most of the other numbers in the 80s as well (Mitchel - 80, Burnett - 82, Gibson - 83, Ward - 84, Green - 89) Here's my guesses for the new WRs: 18 - Reagor: Same number he wore freshman year at TCU 16 - Hightower: Same number at Boise State 87 - Watkins: Repping another Southern Miss alum at WR that played for us 81 - Goodwin: Maybe the veteran doles out some cash to get 84 from Ward or 88 from Goedert, so he can wear a familiar number, but I think he'll go with something new
April 29, 20205 yr From the other topic about WR room. Realistic: Jeffrey (IR), 1 Jackson, 2 Reagor, 3 JJAW, 4 Hightower, 5 Watkins, 6 Goodwin, 7 Ward They can allot 1 or 2 on special teams as returners. Or stash 1 on practice squad. They know Jackson and Goodwin also have injury histories and they'll keep extra WRs for insurance.

Some of those can contribute on STs so they have value there.
