time2rock
Updated look at Eagles salary cap situation after signing Ryan Kerrigan Updated look at Eagles salary cap situation after signing Ryan Kerrigan The Eagles have worked themselves out of the salary cap purgatory that had some wondering if Howie Roseman would be able to field a team. The Birds have made some solid signings this offseason and as the team works through phase two of OTAs, Philadelphia is sitting comfortably for 2021 and could look to dominate free agency over the next two offseasons. Here’s an updated look at the Eagles salary cap space after the Ryan Kerrigan signing. According to Over The Cap, the Eagles currently have $4.3 million in salary-cap space and still need to find space for Le’Raven Clark and their 9 player draft class. Kerrigan’s deal with the Eagles will count $1.36 million against the cap this season per Field Yates. June 1 looms large. June 1 The Eagles will gain $4 million in space from releasing Alshon Jeffery and Malik Jackson. Zach Ertz still wants out and the expectation is that he’ll likely be released and that’ll open up around $8.5 million in cap space including the dead money. Steven Nelson Freeing up cap space could leave room for the Eagles to add Nelson to the roster even after trading for Josiah Scott. 2022 After the Wentz dead money is gone and some other crafty maneuvering, the Eagles will enter 2022 will almost $15 million in cap space per Over The Cap. Depending on what the Eagles do with Fletcher Cox ($23M) and Brandon Brooks (19.4), the Eagles could free up another $30 million, allowing the franchise to play with around $44 million during the 2022 free agency period. https://theeagleswire.usatoday.com/lists/philadelphia-eagles-salary-cap-space-2021-2022-ryan-kerrigan/?fbclid=IwAR0iL9GJd8Qx_T6-PsZcvs4Q3yUssYmSqwAbbl347-QDCeS8O--1A9h9opc
