That dude seems to have a gear that not many players have  period. Sheesh. He needs to get in the 175 range though to take some more punishment at that height but wonder what that would do to his speed.

He's going to be a 5-8 play (including returns) a game player. If you have a lot of talent on the roster with speed, then you might not be able to carry him on the roster. But, if you need a returner and can justify carrying him, then you hope he give you 1 or 2 big plays a game with those 5 to 8 touches.  The rosters have expanded, right? So, maybe we can justify carrying him now if he shows in camp that he is legit.  At his size, I can't see him getting 20 touches or anything. He doesn't have the lower body that Sproles has to take punishment.

Yeah, roster expanded. Changes to how practice squad works as well. I just can't see him in the backfield at that size. He's smaller than Pumphrey and they were rolling him up like a pretzel. Has to convert like Hill did to more of a receiver jet sweep, get him the ball on the outside type of player.

Agreed. He's not going to be a RB from the standpoint of putting him in there on 1st and 2nd down. He's more of a Dante Hall type of player, slot WR or strictly STs/gadget player

Add QB Khalil Tate to the list.

Was Killings a punt returner? Curious about his special teams chops.

Don't know. I've seen him return a KO for a TD on video.  He might have to learn PR.

He just returned kickoffs at UCF. Didn’t do punt returns unfortunately.

I never understood why guys of his size don't specialize in PR in college to have the best chance of landing on a NFL team.

In case that Second Rounder doesn't pan out 😃

Honestly, I don’t know what the Hell happened, but people were really, really high on Tate before the 2018 season. For some reason, everything went terribly wrong after that. This is an interesting signing.

I have no problem with who they sign as a camp arm. Just thought it was interesting that Taysom Hill comparison came.

They clearly are planning to do some Saints like packages with Hill. Intriguing indeed.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they want him to change positions entirely. They’re really embracing this new way of looking at things.

Last couple years they had their other running back Otis Anderson Jr. (yes his dad is that same OJ Anderson) return punts and he was pretty good at it. He averaged like 14 yards per return and had an 87 yard td that’s worth looking up on YouTube.

I hope we don't get too gimmicky.  If we have the talent to win without a lot of tricks, then why overthink things?  Also, good teams were figuring out how to deal with Taysom Hill near the end of last season.  Just like anything, DCs usually figure things out if they have the talent on defense to stop things.

Obvious running downs I can see them coming up ways to get Hurts in there since they like running the RPOs so much. I like the traditional line em up under center but these guys have all the analytics so maybe something is there for that matter.

Definitely a question for @e-a-g-l-e-s eagles!

I’ll post what i did in the blog. There’s more detailed stuff but i have to find the texts cause it’s been a while since i talked to the coaches i know and my friend who works for 24/7 with the uofa site about tate

Can tell you inside information From the Arizona coaches and friend who covers the football and basketball team for 24/7 i know.  he was a pain in the a$$ here. When rich rod got fired and the new coaching staff came in they got irritated with him super fast. It’s why he got benched at times for gunnell this past year. I can tell you they said he was "injured” he really wasn’t injured that bad where he couldn’t play they just were over his attitude. he would refuse to run due to his people Around him not wanting him to get hurt before the draft  It’s why you saw his rushing attempts go down and down since 2017. Additionally the OC Mazzone and him really got into it with one another cause tate refused to listen to him. He also regressed as a QB. He needs to be converted into a WR he’s not capable of reading defenses. He has a big arm though  but really his accuracy blows and can’t read defenses

i would Go into more details but i have to find the texts i had from the coaches and my friend who runs 24/7 for the university of Arizona. @SBorBust

What did they expand roster to???

Yeah it’s what the coaches here told him if he wanted to play in the nfl. His people and he didn’t want to hear it and only wanted to play QB and not learn the position. It’s actually why he chose Arizona and rich rod (at the time). USC really wanted him but they wanted him to play WR but he wanted to stay at QB. You saw in 2018 and 2019 he regressed as a QB cause he never really learned to read defenses better or accuracy and then began to try to save his legs by not running.

he has more athleticism and speed than Greg ward. If he ever matured and listens to coaches better he could become a better version.

Apparently, they're making him a WR.

Thanks for the info, good call BTW.

Like i just posted Above. USC wanted him to convert and it’s why Arizona with rich rod recruited and got him over usc. His people and he wanted to be QB. Was told Arizona’s new staff with sumlin Told him he’d have to make it as a WR in the nfl. He’s got good athleticism and Speed for the position but he is in Greg ward’s footsteps where he needs to learn all the nuances. Only difference is i don’t think ward was defiant to coaches

This makes so much more sense now. It said a lot that Baltimore didn’t sign him. Side note: I’m surprised they haven’t done more to address the issue of when (not if) Jackson gets hurt.
