What’s hilarious is that you guys don’t even know what the theory behind CRT is, you just know you want to ban it because conservative media said it’s bad.

No I want to ban all government influence over school. But that won’t happen, so the best I can do is argue that CRT sucks.

How is local and state governments banning CRT from being taught keeping government out of schools?

because many feel fighting fire with fire is their only option at this point.

Irony, but not the delicious kind.

Get government out of schools AFTER you mandate what they can and cannot teach.

But like the tweet I posted above what people really don’t like is any discussion about race relations. They don’t want their kids learning about Ruby Bridges being yelled at by white people.  Even though that’s exactly what happened to her.

My son in elementary school just spent an entire year at home, logging onto the computer every day. Also I was teleworking right around the corner. I could hear everything the teacher was instructing in the classroom.

I want to hear more about this Critical Race Theory being taught... Because none of it was in his curriculum.

Also, on another subject, they still say the Pledge of Allegiance every day.

thats one example from tennessee. many just want any political influence out of our schools. of course there is always going to be some contradictions involved.

like many of the same people not wanting CRT taught on any level also want christianity to be influential in schools.

Also, it’s not like kids aren’t going to learn about this stuff at some point. I lived a pretty sheltered existence but in 10th grade I started going to a private school. Our summer reading was Malcolm X’s autobiography. And in 11th grade my English teacher assigned Black Boy by Richard Wright.

They don’t have an argument in part because they don’t even know what it is.

It's actually pretty simple. Don't indoctrinate school children with extreme ishlib ideology in public schools. You have to be completely retarded to want kindergarteners to read books about race that depict white people as the devil, so it's not surprising that you're in here supporting it. Peak cvon.

As I’ve already said it’s not a secret that there are some bad teachers out there.  But when I read between the lines the complaints usually boil down to people not wanting their kids to learn about slavery, segregation, and other awful aspects of American history.

And when someone says they like "patriotic history” what they’re really saying is that they want kids to learn a white-washed version.

What a dumb comment. We have actual documents, video footage, etc. You don’t need a kid in school or to work in education to be aware of any of this.

The point that I think a lot of people are missing is that these "examples" being cited aren't actually CRT. Some people might be justifying them (or decrying them) by claiming that they are CRT themes, but they aren't. They are just some lamebrained attempt to inject new-age leftist sociology at the primary and secondary levels.

This is done by most teachers, right and left, injecting their own ________________ beliefs to the kids.

True, although there is certainly a concerted effort in this case that gives the issue more gravity. But it seems to me that this restricted to pockets of the country and particular communities, rather than something that's sweeping the nation. It's particuarly a west coast/urban movement. At least in PA, I don't see these themes gaining any traction in my local districts

All CRT does is teach the false assumption that the entire system was set up to be stacked against black people. Which it wasn’t.

Uh, so Slavery, Jim Crow, Segregation and discrimination were all set up to help black people achieve greatness?

whitewashing slavery and racism is what the Trumplicans do best.

Exactly, Hannity and Carlson tell them what to the think. And it's funny, they don't believe White Supremacy even exists.

White supremacy does not exist. White supremacists do.

Disagree. The belief that they are superior to Blacks and Jews still exists, as do those white supremacists who actually practice that belief.

Oh, yeah, I have no doubt that would be your interpretation of what people are complaining about. It's, of course, not accurate, but I'm sure it makes you feel better to be able to laugh and say, "oh those silly conservatives!"

The belief is what makes white supremacists.

It does not make white supremacy real. Do you believe whites are superior due to their whiteness?

Ok.

Nope. but many people do believe that.

People believe Trump won the election and that the earth is flat.

Nothing you can do about that.

I guess it’s just coincidence that example after example isn’t related to CRT then.

Trumplican's support Conversion Therapy, but CRT is the boogeyman.
