The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.” On 7/29/2021 at 7:25 PM, Dave Moss said: How to be an anti-racist is like 500 pages. Are we pretending like elementary school kids are reading that? I had to read Malcolm X’s autobiography for summer reading and also read Black Boy by Richard Wright as a junior in high school. I have the book, 260 pages, and have read the first two chapters. So far Kendi is right on point calling for active discrimination as a tool to reach more racial equality. He describes such acts of discrimination as "anti-racist" as long as they lead to more equality among the races.

August 8, 20214 yr 46 minutes ago, ToastJenkins said: Moronic stuff as it assume a systemic racism behind differential outcomes I think this is correct insofar as, even if there is a detectable influence of system racism behind those outcomes, this does not amount to causation, and there is no reliable way to either determine a level influence or relate a level of influence to a calculable amount of counter-influence. Nor is there a way to reliably determine a suitable form of counter-influence. The legitimate way to combat racism is the removal of discriminatory barriers, rather than the implementation of alternatively discriminatory ones.

Rather there is only "racist" and "anti-racist". Any neutral position is "racist" by definition.

You guys don't get it, this is all a part of The Great Reset, it's the divide and conquer move........out of nowhere comes critical race theory to further divide us. We're in a war people and you'd better identify the enemy, it sure as hell isn't other ethnic groups, the other political party, and the other vaccination stance. Just know, we have a group who want's to inject who knows what into us and tag us like livestock to ensure we've been injected. Moral of the story, don't put your mental energy into this CRT BS......."read the first two chapters" is so F'ing stupid.

There could be a certain causation but consider this. Suppose you have Usain Bolt and Gary Kasparov on an island. You have a choice where they have to compete in one of two games in order to decide who gets the most coconuts. The winner of the coconuts can be decided either by who wins a game of chess or who wins a race. Obviously one of them is black and one is white. Kasparov is going to want the chess match. Bolts going to want the race. Why would it be racist or fair for either of them to get their way?

Seeing as Bolt was an elite world class athlete, he would obviously just beat the ish out of Kasparov and take the coconuts.
August 9, 20214 yr Kasperov is Russian. He would fall back to the other side of the island and burn the coconuts, the coconut trees and any other form of sustenance.

You're asking why does the left try to find a historical basis for why a minority population easily recognized by their skin tone, whose ancestors were brought to the nation in chains and who dealt with generations of overtly racist policies after emancipation, for whom many still harbor prejudice against might be underperforming against other racial groups and subcultures to this day?
August 9, 20214 yr 10 hours ago, lynched1 said: Define "intelligentsia" Quote In the last half of the 19th century, the word intelligentsia came into use in Russia. This word is not precisely definable, for it described both a social group and a state of mind. Essentially, the intelligentsia consisted of persons with a good modern education and a passionate preoccupation with general political and social ideas. Its nucleus was to be found in the liberal professions of law, medicine, teaching, and engineering, which grew in numbers and social prestige as the economy became more complex; yet it also included individuals from outside those professions—private landowners, bureaucrats, and even army officers. The intelligentsia was by its very nature opposed to the existing political and social system, and this opposition coloured its attitude toward culture in general. In particular, the value of works of literature was judged by the intelligentsia according to whether they furthered the cause of social progress. https://www.britannica.com/place/Russia/From-Alexander-II-to-Nicholas-II#ref422020
