Their kids will be on video as well when mom tries to say how, "There is no way little Susie would do that!"

The kids aren’t public servants, they wouldn’t be the focus of the camera.

Sorry to disappoint, but I wouldn’t trust my kids to the public school system.

So you want to watch other people’s kids in school classrooms?  You some kind of pervert??

Teachers move around the room to help kids though.  I know I'm rarely in the same spot for more than ten minutes.

Not anymore than I want to watch police interactions with other people. I just don’t want activists to be able to hide their inappropriate abuse of their position of power. The fact that you do have such a problem with tells me that you do want them to be able to hide it.

They’ll have to wear one of those rigs with the camera pointing at their face like on Fear

I actually think there’s more of a problem with conservative propaganda being dispensed in classrooms than CRT.

A lot of the football coaches teaching Social Studies at suburban high schools aren’t teaching CRT.  If you catch my drift.

Then, even though you’re obviously delusional, you should be all for my idea.

No, I’m not a sicko like you.  I don’t want to stare at other people’s kids all day.

That that’s what immediately comes to your mind, shows what a pervert you are, Epstein. iOS 15 is gonna find your kiddie porn Jeffrey.

The guy who is obsessed with gendered bathrooms also wants to see into kids’ classrooms.  Gotta admit, I’m spooked a little bit.

Republicans: Live Free or Die!  Water the Tree of Liberty!  Muh Freedom!

Also Republicans: The government needs to put a camera on your child all day.

I know some inner city schools already have cameras in the halls and classrooms.  Not sure how widespread that is elsewhere though.

They are pretty common in the main areas of the school.

You should be. Apple is going to turn you in.

I think there’s a misunderstanding of what police body cams are for among some folks on here.  They aren’t so we can see what the police officer is doing 24/7 (i.e. getting coffee, eating a doughnut, etc.)

Also, the idea that because you’re a taxpayer you’re entitled to see or hear every conversation in a classroom is an interesting one….

I realize that critical thinking is anathema to you commies, but here’s a little exercise, anyway. Are the feeds from police body cams available to everyone at anytime, or only when questionable behavior is alleged, or it’s ordered by a court?

They're to see the police interactions with the subjects of their work.

Teacher cams will do the same: see their interactions with the subjects of their work.

That way there is no misunderstanding of what is going on. Disruptive students get kicked out. Psycho teachers brainwashing kids get kicked out. And the teachers who molest kids at a statistically higher rate than Catholic Priests go to jail. Solves all sorts of problems.

But yeah, we get it: public school teachers think they are above accountability.

Conceptually I have no problem with the idea of cameras in the classroom.

Practically... While most parents are in the range of normal, what this will do is invite every crazy parent - left OR right - to scrutinize everything.

We don't have police releasing live feeds of every officer's body cams. They're released only when there is a situation that demands it.

Cameras in the classroom would cause more issues than they would solve IMHO unless there was restrictions placed around when they were shared.

If my neighbor's compulsive little liar kid whose parents' think does no wrong acts out in class and gets punished by the teacher, I have less of an issue with the school in that instance sharing the video showing that their cherub did indeed stick gum in Suzi's hair.

But I don't see why we should as a society indulge the fantasies of lunatic parents. If some parent thinks teaching that Jim Crow laws existed and separate but equal policies had effects that are still evident today is "Anti-American", or some other parent thinks that teaching that while our founding fathers may have been flawed humans they still created the most enduring Democracy the world has seen and unquestionably the most important foundational document of any nation that has ever existed is somehow whitewashing history, they should pound sand.

Unfortunately there are currently small but loud elements of both of these in play.

Watch a school board meeting about masks. Then let me know if you want some of these parents to also have access to the classroom.

Hell, with the insanity many of these parents demonstrate it's apparent the 6-8 hours a day their kids are in school are the only dose of normal they get.

It’s still funny to me that you thought the insanity over masks would end with the election.  But to be fair even I didn’t predict that people would still have their Trump signs up and be flying their Trump flags nine months after the election.

I didn’t it would end for the total nut jobs.
