I'm saying "white privilege" shouldn't be taught because it's made-up BS and the people teaching it would be ideological zealots like Eaglesrocker. You also tossed out that EaglesRocker was indoctrinated into CRT by his public school upbringing which is stupid since no one was teaching these concepts in the 90's or whenever he was young. You would've known this if you would've thought it through instead of just reacting like an emotional bish.

Not that this stupid aside is even central to my main point, but here's the post where I called him indoctrinated. 43 minutes ago, Kz! said: Honestly though, your responses in this thread show exactly why public school teachers aren't mentally equipped to teach controversial subjects like this one. Acting like "white privilege" is some sort of concrete objective fact rather than just a theory just shows you have no business trying to discuss it with children. There's no way you'll take an objective, nuanced approach to the subject because you're so deeply indoctrinated that you can't even begin to contemplate alternatives to the idea of white privilege. In no way did I say he was "indoctrinated into CRT by his public school." That's pretty obvious, right? He's an indoctrinated liberal. "White privilege" is a big part of liberal orthodoxy as we both know.
February 16, 20223 yr The National Republican Cult supports the white only version of the Civil War. Any other version is CRT. Maybe something like this. In olden times, those fine people living in the South worked the soil, provided food to the North and protected their personal property rights and they would be damned if some liberal Yankee wanted to take their property away. They warned those liberal Yankees, that if they wanted to take away their property, their livelihood and their way of life, they would fight for their Freedom. That's when the liberal elitist Yankees invaded the South and started the Civil War. And why? Because they were Jealous of the Southern man's wealth, prosperity and especially their property. The Freedom fighters and Patriots of the South fought bravely and valiantly, but ultimately were defeated by those damn Yankees.

The concept that it's a good idea to teach white privilege in K-8 is so easy to dispute that there's really no need to pull out your inflammatory sheet. It doesn't help your argument, it just makes you look like an emotional bish, which of course you are.

I must have confused that with white privilege indoctrination. LOL.

But you're right, it shouldn't be taught in K-8 or in high school. If kids want to delve into far left propaganda they can do it on their own time in college.

February 16, 20223 yr https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/features/reconstruction-white-southern-responses-black-emancipation/ Drew Gilpin Faust: White Southerners thought they were superior to the North. They were a culture that was able, because of its leisure -- leisure provided by the labor of slaves to those in the upper echelons of society -- to pursue the life of the mind, to contemplate politics, to be a statesman, to move beyond the fray of everyday life and to sit back and consider it in ways that made you superior to those who were simply enmeshed in life's daily struggles. Many white Southerners say they assume that slaves want to be slaves; that because they are seen by these white Southerners as inferior beings, one of the aspects of superiority they don't have is a desire for independence. Now this is white Southerners deluding themselves, I think, to feel better about the slave institution: "If these people don't really want freedom, then we don't have to feel so bad that we have denied it to them."

February 16, 20223 yr Pretty Much Sums up those who support a revisionist history of White Supremacy and rejecting the alternative history.
February 16, 20223 yr Hmmm. I wonder what history lesson he is referring to. The White History of the Civil War? Anything else is CRT.

February 16, 20223 yr Right-wing commentators like Tucker Carlson have been whipping conservatives into a frenzy over the idea that CRT is being taught to students in history classes across the country, claiming it's making white students feel guilty about their ancestors' actions and indoctrinating children to hate America. CRT has become one of the most talked-about topics on Fox News and former President Donald Trump has railed against it at rallies. Last year the Trump administration went so far as to ban the teaching of CRT concepts in government agencies, calling it "divisive" and "anti-American." The outrage has spread to school-board meetings, many of which have turned into hourslong circuses of parents demanding that CRT be banned in schools — something that's become a reality in eight states. One anti-CRT law in Iowa bans teaching that the US is "fundamentally or systemically racist or sexist" or anything that makes anyone feel "discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress on account of that individual's race or sex." Similar bills are being proposed in 15 more states, per the Brookings Institution. "Our instruction is informed by CRT, in that we give students alternative narratives," said Patrick Witt, a high-school social studies teacher at a charter school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. "If we only teach our students one version of American history — the one Donald Trump wants us to teach, through rosy lenses — then we aren't going to be able to teach our students to really understand why America is the way it is today." Megan Revello, a high-school social studies teacher in Madison, Wisconsin, gave an example of how she teaches students about the GI Bill, the landmark legislation to help soldiers returning from World War II buy homes and go to college. Revello said she makes sure students understand how people of color struggled to take full advantage of the bill through being barred from certain schools or neighborhoods.

February 18, 20223 yr This dude is a legend. And he's right, too. Honestly this horrible liberal indoctrination that goes on at public schools today shouldn't just be offensive to white parents. Black parents should be outraged that their kids are being taught that there's some shadowy oppressive force that's difficult to clearly define holding them back in their lives. It's insulting and untrue.
