Do you guys care about men inappropriately touching/taking advantage of women or not? What Bill Cosby has done really isn't up for debate. He's off on a technicality.

Bullies are bullies. Just because they happened to be on the right side of one, doesn’t change that.

 That's pretty rich and a weird stance to take but ok then.

 says the guy who defended the world's most dangerous bully every single day for 4 straight years. GTFO with that ish you two-faced hypocrite.

Even if you support Cosby, it’s hard to reconcile him being innocent when over 60 women came forward.  He got lucky.

Good grief..

Wow, I bet Tariq is a blast to be around at mixed social gatherings.

The PA Supreme Court decision is a dangerous one.

If a DA decides not to bring charges against a white cop who killed a black man and then loses reelection, the new DA then can not then bring charges, because the first DA's decision will be binding?

I haven't been following the case but it sounds like Cosby was granted some form of conditional immunity. The classic "sweetheart deal from the DA" that everyone hates, just as we saw with Acosta and Epstein.

Whether there was an agreement is questionable. The other issue why he was released involves the testimony of other victims in attempt to show prior bad acts. The Court found that their testimony should have been inadmissible as it may prejudice the Jury because it had nothing to do with the case charged.

Yes - what a strange unpredictable thing it would be for agreements in our justice system to be binding...

  In the long list of CVON's historically bad takes, "a Bill Cosby defender got unfairly bullied on twitter" is definitely up there. What's next? Ghislaine Maxwell was subjected to cruel insults on Facebook? We should have more sympathy and just wish her well instead. Didn't you guys know her boyfriend died in jail? Tragic, really.

No.   If a DA makes a deal providing immunity in exchange for testimony, the new DA can't then bring charges based on the testimony that was provided.   As much as it sucks to see a rapist go free, it was absolutely the right decision by the PASC.

yep, can't slam the PASC on this one, they're following the letter of the law. shouldn't have even reached that level. this is on the prosecutors. back then and the ones who tried this case.

When mistakes of this magnitude happen, you have to wonder if they are planned. This is an egregious error by the prosecution team.

Or it could just be due to abject incompetence. I know we hold many professions like doctors and lawyers in high regard, but someone has to graduate in the bottom of their class in every field. There's always gonna be that guy that barely squeaks by when he should've otherwise failed out. Some of them inevitably end up in positions of power or influence and this can be the result. There are idiots in every position, just because someone is a DA, doesn't mean they're automatically intelligent.
