So someone leaves you a car in a will and you don't like it you just keep driving it around and beyotching about it? Do you still work at your first job? Point is if you don't like something you get away from it.

Ralph Waldo Emerson was popular because he helped people cope with it. Biggest change? I mean, I don't know, there's so many. This country is constantly evolving. To say "this country wasn't meant to to changed" is very silly. It was very much made in a way that it COULD change.

And the language they used was intentionally ambiguous so as to be open to interpretation. Like when they said "shall not be infringed" I mean, what does that even mean really? It's very vague so it can adapt with the changing of the country. Very cool, founders.

Well, yes but… it’s not like these were all original ideas. The Founders read people like John Locke, Voltaire, Montesquieu, etc then used their ideas in the American experiment. That’s the cool part imho.

I'm just saying that if America was founded today we'd probably be f***ed.

July 6, 20214 yr This time of year reminds me that the government is full of servants, not rulers, just our servants. Mow my lawn servant, because you asked me for that job and I said yes. Clean my car servant, because you asked me for that job and I said yes. Make laws to improve our lives servant, because you asked us for that job and we voted yes. See, that's what I love about the USA. WE are the source of power, not our servants. When they don't do a good job, we really should fire them regardless of party affiliation.
July 6, 20214 yr At my lake house. Look at the motherF'ing emotion in that eagle's eye. You can tell he hates fascists. Not pictured: the giant American flag to the left of frame.

That’s my opinion based on my knowledge and experience. I’m not looking to go anywhere until my kids get out of school though.
