"The aircraft would enable package delivery missions in noise-sensitive areas or at night, where operations would otherwise not be allowed due to community opposition," reads Barrett's NIAC project summary.

I'm skeptical it would be feasible for anything other than really light payloads.

NASA on Wednesday released the first image from the James Webb Space Telescope after sharpening its focus, as the agency plans to start peering at the earliest galaxies in the universe.

The image shows a brilliant, blazing orange star know as 2MASS J17554042+6551277.

Just saw that the guy who got the pig heart transplant died. That F'ing sucks.

What's the deal here? Astrophysicist and study author Yi-Kuan Chiang of Ohio State University broke it down in a statement:

"As the universe evolves, gravity pulls dark matter and gas in space together into galaxies and clusters of galaxies. The drag is violent—so violent that more and more gas is shocked and heated up.”

Interstellar warming.

This is pretty cool. Obviously NASA CGI, but still cool.

90% of parcels are under 10 pounds, 50% are under 2 pounds. Think about it — even a grocery bag is probably going to be under 5 pounds unless it contains a lot of liquids.
