Posted August 21, 20214 yr Were taught when you go up to Communion that you’re supposed to say an Act of Contrition to yourself. Where your kids taught this?
August 21, 20214 yr I was not and my kids were not. Only said an act of contrition during the sacrament of Penance. I always bless myself at the end of the lord have mercy at the beginning of Mass. "May the Lord God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen” That could be considered an act of contrition? I don’t know. I rarely go much now.
August 23, 20214 yr I was not... and have no idea if my kids were taught that, but I doubt it. On another note, as an altar boy back in the day, we used to steal hosts from the sacristy when we needed a snack during altar boy practice.
