June 23, 20232 yr Global warming can be debunked by local weather. Just look outside. it's wet and cold. That means Global warm is a total hoax, because it's cold out Where I live.
June 23, 20232 yr TX grid not holding up well. Their Gov rather not raise taxes to make it more efficient. Better to suffer I guess. https://poweroutage.us/area/state/texas

I guess Palm trees being viable above the Mason Dixon line could be seen as an upside. 1 hour ago, sameaglesfan said: Not to worry - your Uncle Joe is working on a plan to deflect the sun's heat rays. What could possibly go wrong? Laugh all you want, but geoengineering is increasingly the most likely way we manage the problem. Human nature will not allow us to change behavior sufficiently because humans rarely think beyond their immediate needs, let alone beyond their lifetimes. https://freakonomics.com/podcast/two-totally-opposite-ways-to-save-the-planet/ It's not a new concept. It's an option of last resort, but one we would be better served studying and understanding now than before it's too late. Uncle Joe suites me just fine.

July 12, 20232 yr Not really about Climate Change but this was the closest thread I could think of related to environmental issues: Some resources below on looking up testing from your local utility. Looks some some of you guys in eastern PA might have fairly high levels according to the map in the second link. https://www.ewg.org/tapwater/ https://www.ewg.org/interactive-maps/pfas_contamination/ From a medical point of view, the links between PFAS levels in drinking water and adverse health outcomes are still in the process of being established, but for now, we still might be in correlation rather than causation territory. But the link from PFAS levels via occupational exposure to adverse health outcomes seems pretty well established by now.

July 13, 20232 yr Amputation seems a bit hasty, would think you could cut away the skin and then graft some new skin on top of where they had to cut. EDIT: nvm, I see these two intellectual giants didn't just glue the palms of their hands, they literally submerged them into the mix. Still think they could find a way to "deglove" them but the doctors probably don't want to waste their time.

Some people truly deserve the misery they create for themselves with their unchecked stupidity.
