Oh, so you mean the federal government did step up and properly help the victims of the Maui disaster.

Great news!  Thanks for sharing!!

This administration screwed that about totally. Now I see Trump is in Georgia and sleepy joe and word salad lady are nowhere to be found. Typical

People had well more than a days notice.  This was understood to be historic events several days in advance.  Also, scientists have been saying for years now that these events will become more frequent and more devastating.  But, yeah let’s do nothing about it.

NO.  What people do not realize and seems all they worry about is landfall.  So, it ticked east and luckily Atlanta was spared the more damaging part of the storm.

Here is a link from last week.  Notice the wording.  Stop saying the Appalachians weren't warned.  They were

It is impossible to warn people enough about conditions that have not been experienced for decades or longer. Many felt safe because they were up a little higher and were fine in the past. Unless the people lived right along a river its beyond unfair to blame them and say they should have been prepared. This video demonstrates how quickly the flash floods came. There is no preparing for this.

Western NC isn’t usually the victim of hurricanes.  This one just dumped more rain than the area could handle.  Looks like wind was also a problem, but the flooding did a lot of places in.

Suggest you look back at NWS forecast discussions for Wednesday that discussed "potential catastrophic flooding”. But heh, people like you don’t know how to read let alone interpret data/scientific discussions.

I am not, and would never blame someone for being caught in this event, but to state they weren’t warned is just flat at wrong.

That is incredible. I do agree you can't get through to everyone and even if you did, if it's nothing they've ever experienced than they wouldn't know. Mudslides were mentioned days ahead as well.  But I get it.  It's just sad. I cannot imagine getting swept away like that and drowning.

This was what I was referring to - that area has NEVER been affected by a hurricane before.

The climate on earth has been changing all its life. It won't stop until and if it dies. We are not stopping anything.  The rich are just using it as a way to rape more money from us. Ever heard of weather modification? Research it.

Yes and no. Before it hit they were only warning the low lying areas right along the rivers. It wasn't until the rivers started rising that they realized it was going to get way worse than expected and they started warning everyone else. That was the next morning and by then they were also telling everyone that all the roads were closed and to stay where you are. Any warnings were beyond inadequate but, again, this was unprecedented and there was really no planning for it. Lastly, everyone is focused on Asheville, and they do need focus as they're the largest community, but everywhere in those mountains are suffering the same misery. The scope of the affected areas is much bigger than anyone seems to realize, and it's going to take a long time to get to everyone. The citizenry is certainly doing what they can. My oldest and his buddy flew a load of supplies to Hickory, NC this morning, then they have pilots taking the supplies from Hickory to the affected areas in the mountains. Anyone saying not enough is being done doesn't realize how much is being done. The government may be doing a small portion of it but they're there too.

I can't either Di. And I'm afraid a lot of people were. People started getting in touch with their loved ones in the area Saturday and yesterday, which is obviously a relief, but there's still a lot of people missing.

For those with a conscience, tread carefully. This one might actually be retarded in real life.

Oddly, his supporters say they are unable to detect these lies, no matter how brazen.

They are lying sacks too.
