October 6, 20241 yr Guy that owns the gun shop I go to went down to NC last week to help out. He's an ex marine, brought supplies and a side-by-side to aid in searches and supply drops. I saw him yesterday and asked how it went. He said the fire departments were just hanging out having a good time. Didn't accept any help or any supplies. Said there were other people like him down there, all got turned away by local authorities and were just going out rouge on their own. He found a church that accepted his supplies donation and headed home. Said communication down there was terrible.
