I'm very much enjoying that Dirty Clowney still doesn't have a job.....

He can't knock your starting QB out of a playoff game when he's on your sideline.

Wanna bet. I'm sure he'd accept that challenge.

I call BS.

If he’ll make the Eagles a more competitive team than the year before, bring it on.

I think he does because he's better than Sweat and I think there's a good argument to say he's better than Barnett. The big question is what he'll cost. If it's a team friendly deal I think fans will soon get on board with it.

No thanks, he can go play hide and go F himself.

If it's something like a 1yr/12m prove it deal I'm taking that.

Me too. I'm not a big fan of Clowney but he's got talent and we need the at DE.

F him. I'd boo him. Never booed an eagle before but he is a pos.

I'd rather have Barnett over that POS Clowney. Clowney has shown he's dirty and overrated. I want a hard-working DE.

And I can completely understand that. I'm no massive Clowney fan but Clowney has more ability than Barnett.

I feel that once he gets paid, he will stop trying.

Clowney seems like the guy that would cost the Eagles a game with a stupid Personal Foul penalty at the worst possible time. If he's not on the Eagles... Well, we remember last year's playoff game against the Seahawks.

You mean like Barnett does? OK not the personal foul necessarily but the stupid boneheaded flag.

After weighing all of the pros and cons in my mind, I have settled on the following opinion:

No thank you.

His poor culture fit outweighs any production we could reasonably expect from him.

Let someone else poison their locker room with him.

Barnett had a better season than Clowney in 2019.

Barnett in 14 games: 6.5 sacks, 30 combined tackles

Clown in 13 games: 3 sacks, 31 combined tackles. In a contract year.

This plus the shot at the fanbase and 2 cheap shots against 2 eagles QB's I don't see the appeal.

Barnett also had 10 tackles for loss to clowneys 7

Then the big number Barnett had 22 hits on the QB to clowneys 13. That means he put the QB on his arse 10 more times for those that are into the QB pressures and hits.

To be honest Clowney gets a lot more attention thAN Barnett and Barnett has the luxury of playing with Cox if we're being honest. Straight numbers to numbers doesn't always tell the whole true story. That being said i don't want him, he should go to the cowboys he'd feel more at home there.

i may or may not have already said this but, f him.

Yeah Clowney only played next to JJ Watt for most of his career.

This team has done well drafting and hiring good character players, with very few exceptions....TO and Vick.  They continued to stay away from character issue players.

I don't see them crossing that line for Clowney.  If you do that, you kinda open up the floodgates.

Clowney played 5 years for Houston. He didn't play his rookie year so really 4 years. Watt played 3 games in 2016 and 5 games in in 2017. Clowney played basically 2 years with Watt. So yeah, "most of his career" = 2 years then.

Again, not a Clowney fan and I don't want him but Barnett has a long way to go. Clowney would most likely make a lot of big plays with this D line. If Barnett can't get it done next to all the investments made in this d line he's probably just a guy.

I'm not a Clowney fan but anyone who think Barnett's numbers are the same as Clowney are clowning themselves.

Clowney had 10.5 sacks in 31 games his first 3 years.  Barnett has 14 in 35 games.  Clowney hit his peak of 9.5 sacks at age 24, Barnett will be 24 this year.  Oh and Barnett is easily the better run defender.  I'm not against adding Clowney, he is a legit NFL pass rusher and there isn't an NFl team in the league he couldn't log snaps on.  But the argument that he is a hands down better player than Barnett is questionable at best.
