Like the title says, I need some good ole EMB advice here, friends.  8 year old daughter came home from school still a bit upset.  She told me that someone had stolen something from her desk while they were at Spanish, and that one of the other students had fingered "The New Kid", who's had some behavioral issues since he's arrived at our school.  After numerous denials by him, followed by a search of his stuff, it was determined that he had, in fact, stolen it.  He was promptly sent to the principles office, who called his parents and told him that they needed to come pick him up.  The angel on my right shoulder is telling me that it's over, the school took care of it, and the kids obviously lashing out at whatever is bothering him.  The devil on my left shoulder is telling me to find his house and go Erlich Bachman on him

Both the Angel and the devil are making good points.  Help me decide what to do.  Serious replies only.

You already said it, the school handled it to the full extent. Who are you to exact vengeance? Teach your daughter to be at peace with a final decision.

Otherwise she'll never learn to get over Clete Blakeman's bad calls.

nobody should be fingering anyone at that age. gross.

Gotta agree with Melvin.

You will be.....

1 teaching her not to dwell on things once a resolution is in play.

2 teaching her that dad is NOT a maniac...... especially over a trivial thing in school where there are other authorities at work....( save being a maniac for when she is 16 and the boyfriend gets too touchy  )

If this is your oldest....... trust me ...... you will have many bigger issues to contend with.....and if she's your youngest....... come on man!  you know this to be true.

She’s our youngest of 4. And, of course you and Mr. Melvin raise good points. It’s worth noting that this provides a great opportunity to teach the boys now that her Dad is a maniac. They’ll remember that ish when they get older.

Murder his parents.  Cut them up and cook them into a nice chili.  Invite him over for a peace dinner and serve him his parents.  Problem solved.

My wife refused to drive me there, so I'm thinking this is gonna have to wait.  All the better.  More time to plan.

He has to trick a farmer into thinking his parents are pony killers then he doesn't have to be involved in the murder

Remember, the one who retaliates is typically the one who gets penalized.

Don't you have sons as well? Send them to protect their sister.

Beat up the kids who ratted him out.
