Like the title says, I need some good ole EMB advice here, friends.  8 year old daughter came home from school still a bit upset.  She told me that someone had stolen something from her desk while they were at Spanish, and that one of the other students had fingered "The New Kid", who's had some behavioral issues since he's arrived at our school.  After numerous denials by him, followed by a search of his stuff, it was determined that he had, in fact, stolen it.  He was promptly sent to the principles office, who called his parents and told him that they needed to come pick him up.  The angel on my right shoulder is telling me that it's over, the school took care of it, and the kids obviously lashing out at whatever is bothering him.  The devil on my left shoulder is telling me to find his house and go Erlich Bachman on him

Both the Angel and the devil are making good points.  Help me decide what to do.  Serious replies only.

Since it would be pretty embarrassing to get wrecked by an eight year old I'd advise you to just forget about it.

Is it that uncommon? Our older two are 15 and 13. Then we’ve also got an 18-month old.  So when the youngest is 8 his brothers will be 21 and 19.

I guess family dynamics and income have a lot to do with the big age gaps some have between children. Mine are 14 (boy) and 11(girl). Got one of each, called it done and she had her tubes tied.

Vasectomy after #2 was the best investment I ever made.  I love my kids, but 2 is my limit.  10 and 8 and constantly fighting.  My daughter and wife get along like oil and water.  Daughter has a teenage attitude already with her.  At least she knows when I raise my voice (rarely) it's time to shut the f up and show some respect.
