If only there were a time to work on tackling before the season started...

To be honest, I’d rather have a healthy team with some tackling issues early in the year, than a team with half the team injured before even getting to the regular season, like last year.

Man PFF gave Ryan Kerrigan a higher grade than Fletcher Cox. Did anyone actually see him play?

The starting line played just over half the snaps. The backups played just under half the snaps. Kerrigan played 47% of the defensive snaps (34 snaps).

On a side note I saw Slay sticking his head in there and making tackles. The corners were pretty good in coverage too.

Yeah there was just one play I can recall where I think Slay gave too much cushion on Ridley. He did then get back to the ball but Ridley should really have made the catch. But I mean look that's going to happen with any CB.

I don't even feel like I saw him out there. Honestly I don't remember the linebackers doing much either. The line really didn't get it going until the Falcons became one dimensional.

The defense for me seemed strange in this game. Two drives they let the Falcons march right down the field. The basically were ran over too, but they held inside the red zone twice. Then it was like the Falcons couldn't even get the ball past the 50 yard line again. Strange enough i don't remember seeing a lot of standouts until late in the game and that was mostly on the line. Fletcher Cox didn't even register a tackle, but it felt like he was being disruptive. I don't remember seeing anything positive from the linebackers. Still they only gave up six points. It was strange.

I think early on they missed tackles and they focused on not giving away anything deep. Gannon played with 2 high safeties and they seemed willing to just let the Falcons run on them. But after that second drive things changed. I'm not sure what Gannon did but my god it worked. And the DL forced Ryan to hold on to the ball longer which then opened up sacks later on.

One hell of a game on Sunday.  When the Falcons drove down the first two drives easily I thought "here we go again".  But the d tightened up and made some stops and the offense played pretty well as well.  Good to open the season with a win.  Hopefully it continues.  But I am trying to not get my hopes up right now.  They got a tough matchup against a good 49ers team this coming up week.

No need to get too high or low this season. Just take it all in stride.

I'd agree with that. I personally had no real expectations for this year. Of course I want the team to do well and show promise but I just want to enjoy the season. I'm not going to suddenly change my expectations after one game just like I won't be too down on the team after a loss. This year is all about showing some hope for the future.

Well I had super high expectations before the game, so..

And that's fine bud, in fact that's great for you. You have high hopes and a real belief that this team can be really good. Fair play.

I don’t have any expectations this season. The last time I took this approach the Eagles won the Super Bowl. I guess I’m going this route again.

Yeah this season I’m more on seeing what players can do rather than thinking the team can win X amount of games. I’m just happy to see football really.

Absolutely! I'm going to soak it all in and enjoy watching the team. Looking for the bright spots on the team rather than worrying too much about the results.
