Maybe, the defense played a great 1st half but got manhandled in the 2nd. They just couldn’t get off the field. It was a bad loss all around, SF is not that good, offensively or defensively.  The offense left too many points on the field. Reagor stepping out killed them and not being able to score on a 1st and goal left 10 or 14 pts off the board. 

Reagor often seems super close to making a play but somehow always seems to bungle it up.

Wasn’t really crazy about that play. The only option Ward really had was Hurts and they read that play perfectly.

It was a poor play call to begin with.  You failed 3 times already.  Take the 3 points.

Yea and Ward deciding to throw it away on fourth down was just effing moronic. Tuck and run or give hurts a chance.

Run it, yes definitely…but pass it, no, not on this occasion as Hurts was well covered, and if it’s picked, it comes out to the 20 rather than make them start from their own 3 yd line…not that it made any difference in the end, but not the situation for a non QB to try and force it into a non WR’s hands.

I see some of that, but I also see a lot of guys being encouraged that the team hung with the 49ers, even though the Eagles didn't play very well and made stupid mistakes. They were STILL right there. That encourages me that they are better than I thought they would be THIS year.

I actually don't think Siri's play calling was all that bad, it's just that the Niners were much better in the trenches and just a better team. I guess we're back to reality now.

Hurts didn’t throw the ball to Goedert (sp?) until the fourth quarter I think.  A bit odd.  Also didn’t really have a safety valve slot guy to throw to either.  Seems like Siri was wary of the 49ers LBs who are very good.

There will be ups and downs, this is a season-long evaluation.

WTF happen to the simple QB sneak?

Every D knows on 3/1, 4/1 or goal line Brady is doing a QB sneak, and he still gets it, and you mean to tell me Hurts can’t? WTF…  

If you need a yard, just run a QB sneak, don’t try to be effing tricky 

Can we retire the "Philly Special"-esque plays now. It's beginning to remind me of when Andy would always try Flea Flickers early in games.

Do not hit the panic button just yet. This is only a second game. There is a whole season ahead of us, and we lost to a pretty good team, by less than a touchdown. I call it a growing pains, not a disaster. Hurts may not have won the game, but he did OK. Time for Siri to step up with a better next weeks game plan.

Hurts has those huge muscled legs (from all the deadlifts he does) that can get you 1 or 2 yards on a QB sneak. If any QB can get it done, it should be him. Hey Siri will learn from it. He wanted to confuse the 49ers and wow the crowd. Good intentions, bad judgement. I bet you see QB sneaks in the near future- like the next game. Hey Siri will dust himself off, learn from his mistakes, and call better plays the more he coaches in the NFL.

Sirianni coached a bad game, offensively.  Going for it 2 times on 4th and goal, in a tight game?  C'mon, man.  I get wanting to be aggressive but he was just being careless and stupid.

Why does it have to be all on Sirianni ??  How do you know those calls are not straight of the Lowie analytics play book ??

I was at the game yesterday and couldn’t believe the amount of Niners fans at the game. 

Close game. Tough loss. Good defense on both sides. Expected to see more TE usage..

I love trick plays. The thing is, they should only be called in certain situations, and not very often. Timing is everything, just like in comedy. Get that wrong, and it becomes the joke.
