I thought Siri did a good job in his press conference.  He remained confident in his decision making and said there are things he would still call again, and that when it works it's celebrated when it doesn't it's criticized (my paraphrase).  People said how would he handle the Philly media after a loss and he handled it well, was calm and confident in his decision making and defending his stance on things.

Tough game. SF is a solid, veteran team. No shame in that loss. Hopefully it can be a learning tool for the Team, Coaches included.

Bingo- that's exactly what the 1st half of this season will be, mainly- a learning tool. It will grow each week. Coaches and players alike will grow together. When it all comes together, they will all have closer relationships, too. Then watch out, they will start to roll. Hopefully.

Why does it have to be all on Sirianni ??  How do you know those calls are not straight of the Lowie analytics play book ??

Ummmm, because he's the one that ultimately decided to go for it on 4th and goal.  Twice.  And failed both times.

And we have been doing that for years, because Lowie and their analytics book says so.

Analytics are not going to account for game specific situations (score, momentum, past drives in that particular game, etc..).  If you are defending the call to go for it on 4th and goal (twice), you're nuts.  I say that respectfully, of course.

I am not at all defending it.  What I am saying, is Nick Siriani made those calls because that is what he was told to do, by Lowie and the analytics department.

OK, but your original point was, "why does it have to be all on Sirianni".  Regardless of where the information comes from, he's the one to make the final call.  Whatever, this is ridiculous that we're hitting this tennis ball back and forth.  /end

He makes the call because it is the call he was told to make.
