There were changes in 2017 as well. How many of the Super Bowl starters were on the team the year before.

Some coaching changes - yes, but it’s still Doug’s offense and Schwartz’s D.

There are question marks at WR sure. But we have lots of talent and speed there. We also have the best 2 TEs in the league and three good pass catching RBs.

This team can absolutely contend this year. If Alshon is healthy and our best option - he should be out there.

Some coaching changes? They've brought in another new WR coach and about 5 different coaches all in different roles. There has been a hell of a change amongst the coaches especially on offense.

This team can't contend, not in my opinion. It can get to the play offs sure but I don't see it going deep in the play offs.

Jackson, Reagor, JJAW, Goodwin, Hightower, Watkins.

Goodwin is the shakiest for me, And I just don't see it happening with Greg Ward unless we get hit with injuries again. He's sure handed, but offers nothing else. I think we want to go vertical this year. That dink and dunk stuff was out of necessity. If Greg Ward is starting, we're desperate.

You're not making any sense, but ok.

We will go with 7

WR1- Julio Jones(Trade)

WR2- Jarvis Landry(Trade)

WR3-- Cooper Kupp(Trade)

WR4- Dj Moore(Trade)

WR5- Jalen Reagor(Rookie)

WR6- Megatron(Out of retirement)

WR7= TO(Out of retirement)

Care to share your source?

I know someone who knows someone who heard from Howie Rosemans cousins brother in law this was going to happen.

I think Larry Fitzgerald should be in there somewhere.

Locks: DeSean, Jalen

Likely: Ward, JJAW, Goodwin, Hightower

PUP/IR: Alshon, Quez

Reasoning:

If DeSean is healthy, he's a starter.

Jalen could disappoint big time when he sees the field, but he's on the roster.

Ward really stepped up last season and is good to play WR3/WR4 in many packages.

JJAW showed little but was a 2nd round investment. Unless they have a phantom injury, they won't cut him *this* year.

Goodwin has had success at an NFL level (I know, not a lot of it), and with a shortened off-season, really helps his odds of making the roster.

Hightower was picked higher and generally seems to be the more touted prospect than Quez, so I picked Quez to get the phantom injury. Quez also has the better likelihood of safely making it to the practice squad if cut.

Josina Anderson and general effectiveness aside, Alshon will have a spot in 2020 once he's healthy due to his guaranteed money. They can't *give* the guy away in a trade, but they'll try. Odds are one of six on the roster when he's eligible to come off PUP will be on IR anyway, so they can worry about that then.

Sounds about as solid a source as most we hear.

Has a team ever cut a second round pick after 1 year? lol

I remember we cut a 2nd round DT in his rookie season at final cuts.  Might have been in the 70s.  I don't think he ever played a down in the league

Teams have cut second round picks in their first training camp.

Realistic: Jeffrey (IR), 1 Jackson, 2 Reagor, 3 JJAW, 4 Hightower, 5 Watkins, 6 Goodwin, 7 Ward

They can allot 1 or 2 on special teams as returners.  Or stash 1 on practice squad.

They know Jackson and Goodwin also have injury histories and they'll keep extra WRs for insurance.

Same here. This is what I would do, but I would have them compete for #3 WR.

Right. JJAW has competition for sure.

If someone is on IR, I don't think they can practice with team. That wouldn't be helpful for Quez.

If JJAW can't play, he's got to go and have that spot for someone with potential.

I'm not sure both Doug and Howie survive another sub .600 season 'developing receivers', as I've said in draft discussions if Reagor goes for like 500 yards and Jefferson, Aiyuk or Higgins goes off for a 1000yard season Howie is going to be on a piping hot seat or throwing Doug under Lurie's bus, as it stands now the only receivers you know can give you 800yards plus if they're healthy are Jackson and Jeffery, they're also massive cap hits, both will and should make the 53.

IF anyone goes first then I think it'll be Howie. Doug won the first SB so he's locked IMO. I don't think anyone goes after this season even if they are at the bottom of the division

There's still that possibility that they trade Alshon and a pick to some team to take his contract like teams have done recently but that's also unlikely. I don't think they are ready to publicly admit there's any conflict still

He can until final cut downs.

You mean he'll be a candidate for phantom IR? Yeah I could see that. Mind you there's a few candidates this year.

Yeah, exactly. But they do it less than we think they will. More likely both Hightower and Quez make it through to the PS.

I guess my "line in the sand” is that I think Goodwin is darn close to a lock.

Locks Desean, Reagor, Alshon, Ward. JJAW was so bad I could see him getting cut, his draft status notwithstanding, but he probably sticks. Hightower sticks. Goodwin to IR. Watkins practice squad.

They aren't cutting JJAW after one year. They'll justify the pick with his apparent injuries and asking him to learn multiple positions.

Normally I would agree, but that kid looked so bad last year, lost, confused, slow, drops, if he looks the same in camp I can see them bailing. I also think, but do not know, that he was a Joe Douglas pick. If so Howie may not feel attached ..

He looked good in camp and preseason last year. With the long term need at WR they will not cut him this year. They'll give him at least another year. Look at Sidney Jones.

Pretty sure Quinton Caver was cut mid-season in year two. So technically made it to his second season but not through it.
