I think the penalties are killing them, especially since one TD was taken off the board because of illegal man down field

Should've caught the 1st down pass but it really should've been illegal contact on the 3rd down pass. Doesn't matter if Hurts is outside the pocket if Watkins gets shoved from behind.

Yep. That's the problem. He has played well, but the misses he has have been huge misses that would've led to points. So, we can't say he is playing great.

If they can’t make a stop it doesn’t matter what the offense does.

This drive is especially big since a stop would net us another possession

Yeah, as I said to another response, they don't go cheap on FA picks for defense. Look at Hargraves, Slay, M.Jackson, Steven Nelson. They aren't cheap signings to try and address the defense. It is poor scheme and talent evaluating that is screwing the Eagles, more than not trying to address it imo.
