This is universally stupid, bad behavior. I don't do this. The people I work with don't do this. The clients our company works with very rarely have issues with this sort of thing. A 1 in 5 years over hundreds of thousands of people.

No, I don't....and what Gruden did was really stupid.  But people use company email for a lot of personal correspondence.  And people are a more careful in what they email nowadays then they were years ago.  Companies are watching closer than they were years ago.  Companies are more aware of social pressures and have succumbed to political identity politics like everybody else.  Companies will routinely search for anything that could damage their brand.  And it's not about racism or homophobia, it's about public image and money....but again, people and companies can evolve.

Some people never do.....it wasn't an all inclusive statement and you should have known that.  What Gruden did was mind boggling stupid.

Gruden paid the price for his actions.  And his career in football and TV is over.  Just like Eric Reid and Kaepernick paid for their actions.  Different issues but the same social punishment.  It all depends on which sensitivities they offended.

Agree completely. I made the point earlier that the only one guilty of harming anyone here is the leaker/journalist who exposed the email. You and I are in lockstep agreement on this one, van.

Yes it is.......criminal investigations should be confidential until the investigation is completed.  Leaks, court of public opinion and irresponsible reporting can hinder the outcome.  So what are we trying to do....find actual evidence, have lawful investigations or just hang people for stupid things?

The leak was wrong, but this isn't a criminal investigation. It's being led by the NFL.
