Old EMB Archived Threads

For the past couple of weeks, I've tried to archive some of the old EMB on archive.org. Below are some of the areas that I archived. These links should take you to archive.org's EMB links.

Here's our local archive of the Super Bowl LII thread: http://archives.eaglesmessageboard.com/SuperBowlLII/

Here's the link to the entire EMB (whatever was archived):

The Eagles Message Board

As you can see from the image below, I did a lot of archiving over the past two weeks, the bigger the colored 'bubble' around the date, the more that was archived.

archive_0429.JPG.3ffe7f809169437ee477bdf4c7638c06.JPG

The old EMB Member list (I tried to archive 100 pages, sorted by post count).

A few threads leading up to Super Bowl LII:

Shocked Nick Foles was Traded

Go on the record now with Foles in the Playoffs

Pre-Super Bowl Thread

Super Bowl LII and after the glorious victory:

Super Bowl LII Game Day Thread

Eagles Super Bowl Parade

America's Game Thread

Harold Carmichael voted into the Hall of Fame

Some non-Eagles threads:

Ongoing Derek Carr Thread

Shango

I probably did more than just those specific threads, but those are the threads that I made note of. Going to the main EMB archive at the top of this post, you can click on various links within that archive and if it's archived, you should get to whenever it was archived. I wish archive.org had an easier way to archive an entire site.

To memorialize our surpassing of 1 Million posts, I've archived the board as of a few moments ago.

Here's archive #1 from our first 24 hours of being open in April of 2020:

Here's the archive from the day that we surpassed One Million Posts:

Next stop, 2 Million!

@VaBeach_Eagle Thank you so much for adjusting my post counts. I am very grateful for this. Looks like you're the EMB Godfather LOL. GO BIRDS!

There's still a glimmer of hope for getting the old EMB's database. It may not happen, but the door isn't completely closed yet. So it was a good bit of 'work' to archive all of that, but if that door gets fully opened, we'll be able to keep everything as an archive. So fingers crossed!

But if the door gets completely closed, we at least have archive.org.

I'm ok with not getting it all back. Kind of like a fresh start I'd just like to be able to check it out and reminisce

We'd keep the fresh start. None of its data would be merged into this board. It would be a standalone archive. No members, no ability to join or log in. But all posts would be there, much like the archive.org archives. It would just be 'frozen in time', at 5PM tonight.

It would just be an archive.

Oh wow. I like that a lot. Hopefully we can still do it.

And even if you don't - doesn't matter.  Seamless transition - and these boards are MUCH BETTER than the old ones.

Before the old EMB was shut down, I tried a few different methods to save a few of the more 'important' threads. One being the Super Bowl LII Game Day Thread.

The Archive.org archive is fine, but I also wanted a 'local' version for us. The majority of the links in the thread, won't actually work, because they lead back to the old EMB. But I can slowly fix some of those. There's 167 pages, so it would be a very slow fix lol.

The page numbers work to advance to the next page, but clicking the board logo (on pages other than the first 2, right now), won't work. But we can at least have the history of that thread preserved and it can be read and referenced.

http://archives.eaglesmessageboard.com/SuperBowlLII/

I have a few other threads that I saved in this same way, as tome goes on, I'll add them to the server.

Thanks so much for doing all this man!!  This is absolutely terrific!  I just spent some time going through the Super Bowl game day thread.  Still so exciting, all this time later!

I have a few of the other LII related threads too (the Parade, the pre-Super Bowl thread, even the America's Game thread). There's elements that won't work, like clicking on a person's name won't take you to their profile or other things like that, but the important parts are there (what was actually said by members).

When Dave announced the board closure, the Super Bowl GDT was one of the very first thoughts that I had, and how to preserve that EMB history.

I wanted to get the NFCCG GDT too, but it had been deleted, otherwise we'd have it here too. I was really disappointed when I went looking for it and it was gone.

Can you please post the go fund me link if it is still active that is.

With new (old) members finding us, I thought I'd bump this in case they want to look back at some of the archives.

Anyone know the old URL for CVON? I'm trying to see what was archived there. There's a number in the URL indicating the subforum, but I think it's different from what CVON is here and I can't remember it. For example, the current URL is: https://www.eaglesmessageboard.com/forum/23-conflicting-views-and-other-news/  In the original, I think that "23" is a different number. Anyone know what it was?

Ok, so I'm REALLY late in answering this question, but I just saw it for the first time today... lol

The old CVON forum number was 53.

Here's a link to the final archive that was made before the old board died.
