Eagles activate Dallas Goedert from COVID-19 list

The Eagles activated Dallas Goedert from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday morning, which means he’ll be able to practice Thursday and play Sunday against the Raiders in Las Vegas.

Goedert was placed on the COVID-19 list on Oct. 12 and missed the loss to the Buccaneers.

Because he's fully vaccinated, Goedert needed to pass two COVID tests 24 hours apart and be asymptomatic for 48 hours to return to the team.

With Zach Ertz now with the Arizona Cardinals, the Eagles certainly need Goedert back.

Goedert caught 15 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles’ first five games.

He has 152 catches for 1,681 yards and 14 touchdowns since the Eagles drafted him in the second round in 2018.

Ertz and Goedert are both due to become free agents at the end of the season, and Howie Roseman said after trading Ertz that it was important for the Eagles to see the 26-year-old Goedert as the unchallenged No. 1 tight end for an extended period of time to help define his value.

Since the start of the 2018 season, Goedert ranks 12th among NFL tight ends in yards and catches and tied for 8th in touchdowns.
