Talent is important in this league bud. The Eagles basically have two receivers they can count on. Hopefully in the off-season the Eagles actually sign a free agent rather than drafting another guy.

Which is why I don't understand why Ward isn't out there more often.

That said, I am still not quite giving up on him.  There are quite a few draft picks the Eagles gave up on who have had reasonably productive post-Eagles careers, e.g., Nelson Agholor, Jordan Poyer, Sidney Jones, Jalen Mills, Rasul Douglas, Alejandro Villanueva, Jordan Hicks, Raheem Mostert (UDFA).

Give up. The return where the middle was open to at least the 40 yd line should tell you all you need to know. Reagor is a perfect example of Howie never taking the BPA in the first round, to take some scrub from a lower round hoping to show he is smarter than everyone. Keeps blowing up in his face, and the Eagles suffer as a result.

After this weekend we could control our destiny.   If the Bills beat the Saints, the Eagles will automatically move up to the 8th Seed in the Playoffs.     Vikings and 49ers play each other so someone has to lose.   Therefor with a Win against the Giants, the Eagles could be the 7th Seed by end of the weekend.   Also Dallas could collapse down the stretch and the Eagles could end strong.  Therefor the Eagles could be the 4th, 6th or 7th Seed.

6th or 7th is very realistic with our schedule. But means this young team needs to avoid a let down game the rest of the way including quite a few division games - not a given.

They have one tough team left on the schedule.  That being said, no way they're going 10-7.  LOL

I'd say 8-9 or 9-8

I voted NO before, but since the # 1 defense could not stop the Eagles bad a_s_s running game, I changed my mind. They can make the playoffs. And the I think about how in the playoffs, a great running game wins you a LOT of playoff games, usually. It sure as he_l_l gives you a chance to advance. Cheers. 🍺 🍻

Roseman's 1st round picks have been quite good when in the top 20, but yeah, from the 21-32 range they have been awful.  My suspicion is somebody fell in love with Reagor's return skills (whether Roseman, the coaches or the scouts) and that got him put atop Jefferson as a prospect on their board ... which was stupid.  It wasn't actually universal that Jefferson was BPA over Reagor (see, e.g., PFF 2020 WR pre-draft rankings:  Reagor 5th (21st overall), Jefferson 8th and Bleeding Green nation 2020 pre-draft WR rankings (Reagor 7th, Jefferson 8th)), but certainly a clear majority of draft experts had Jefferson as a higher rated prospect and quite a few significantly so.

Anyway, I have certainly given up on Reagor being a star, but he may yet be mildly productive on maybe an Agholor type level.

You lost me at "clear majority of draft experts.“ These opinions are entertainment, nothing else.

Point taken.  BUT ... any belief by fans/board members that Roseman did not take BPA is based on those entertainment opinions since none of us have access to NFL team rankings.  And lots of those entertainment opinions are actually informed by NFL team insider opinions.  And frankly, even NFL teams' collective opinions are just opinions - I have seen very little evidence that suggests that NFL GMs are better at ranking prospects than Mel Kiper or Daniel Jeremiah or whoever - every GM in the NFL whiffs on more than half their picks.

I’d rather see Ward out there more. They just aren’t getting enough from Reagor or Watkins right now. Ward has reliable hands even if he’s not going to get big plays we know he’s going to make catches.

Exactly! Not really sure why he has become forgotten.

Maybe not even one tough team - decent chance Cowboys are resting their starters.

We may go our last 8 games in a row without playing a good team - none them have a decent QB!

Don't make me say something stupid like they're going 11-6

Right. the Birds have only played ONE division game so far, the game against the Jets is the only non-division game left on the schedule.

I like Ward too.

Start Ward.

Bench Reagor.

Playoffs!

I'd certainly like to see them do something that gets Watkins on the outside a little more. But I do think he's good in the slot too.

Reagor at this point is a net negative.

Smith and Watkins on the outside.

Ward in the slot.

Might be their best bet down the stretch.

I'd do that on that on the majority of snaps but I'd look for ways to get Watkins snaps in the slot too.

I get a kick out of everybody who is counting games against division opponents with bad records as automatic wins.  They are not.  Don't lose sight of the fact that the Texans beat the Titans in Tenn. last week.  It's the NFL, and the any given Sunday adage applies.  Vermeil's 1980 Super Bowl bound Eagles finished the season 12-4.  The fourth game of the season, the 5-11 Cards came to the Vet to face the 3-0 Eagles.  The Cards won handily.  Cannot take any of these games for granted.  Remember how cocky Viking fans were before the NFCCG  at the Linc?

Yes, but for Dallas, we have games against teams with bad records.  But it's the NFL.  There are no gimmes out there - especially against division rivals.

Exactly. Especially With how this NFL season is gone, can’t count on favorites to win. It’s been a fun streak of games but if Giants beat us Sunday we’ll be back to trashing the Eagles over everything.

Oh 100%! The joys of being a fan right? I mean a few weeks ago we killed Sirianni for the flower analogy... Now he's making references to a football movie regarding Kelces blocks and we lap it up.

looks like the majority dont even believe the eagles will make the playoffs, unless they count the votes that will come in at 3am after the vote is over, ya know, like..................................

The Eagles lost 24-14 that day, but the game was in St. Louis. The Eagles won the rematch at the Vet 17-3 in the next-to-last game of the season. As I recall, it was an ugly victory.

But you have to admit the schedule is set up nicely for the eagles who are coming off a couple big wins and a new round running game. They are in an advantageous position at the moment
