Cowboys are slumping and the Eagles are surging just at the right times. IF this keeps up that final game could mean more than just a playoff spot, but the division.

This is a straight up divisional race right now.  WFT will be the spoiler team because I do not think they will let Pokes & Eagles both sweep them.

Eagles gonna revenge sweep them from last year.

I get a kick out of everybody who is counting games against division opponents with bad records as automatic wins.  They are not.  Don't lose sight of the fact that the Texans beat the Titans in Tenn. last week.  It's the NFL, and the any given Sunday adage applies.  Vermeil's 1980 Super Bowl bound Eagles finished the season 12-4.  The fourth game of the season, the 5-11 Cards came to the Vet to face the 3-0 Eagles.  The Cards won handily.  Cannot take any of these games for granted.  Remember how cocky Viking fans were before the NFCCG  at the Linc?

Yes, but for Dallas, we have games against teams with bad records.  But it's the NFL.  There are no gimmes out there - especially against division rivals.

That is true, and the Giants game this week, the first since Jason Garrett was fired as Giants OC is a prime example.  That said, the Eagles have to be knowing if they win, unless MIN-SF ends in a five-quarter tie, the Eagles will be the #7 seed with the chance to move to the #6 seed next week against the Jets in the other bus ride to The Meadowlands.

One other possibility now I see is if the Cowboys beat the Saints next week AND the Eagles and Football Team both win this and next week and the game with them here in Week 15 becomes Sunday Night Football (it can't be protected since it was a candidate to be on Saturday).

I don't understand the whole "predict the future" thing at all.

Do we get a cookie if we guess right? Is it a good cookie? I've had too many crappy cookies in my life. If I'm going to make-believe that I've got some kind of crystal ball and so I'm so awesome that I know what's going to happen in the future, at least I want a really good cookie if I do guess right. One of those that comes in the bag with the foil. Nantucket Farms or whatever. Big chunks of chocolate, soft dough, and no crystals of sugar so big that they chip my teeth when I'm biting through the cookie.

For a cookie like that, sure, I predict that we're the sixth seed and we'll play the Packers.

For a good steak, I'll predict how many rushing TDs Jalen Hurts gets.

Got more from the "look at me I can guess" file. The NBA streaming thing just up a poll in the Warriors-Blazers game asking if those two teams would meet in the playoffs this season, and one of the options was "maybe."

This season has been funny reading the hot takes.

They beat Atlanta: they're legit!

Lose a few, play bad: season's over, they stink. Cut/fire everyone!

Win a few, play better: playoffs! Winning the division!

Lose 1 game, play awful: season's over, they stink. Cut/fire everyone!

Still a decent chance I reckon. Not as great as before today but 10-7 gets you in for sure. Hell 9- 8 probably gets you in, and small chance that even 8-9 might get you in. There just aren't 7 good teams in the NFC and the schedule remains our friend.

49ers probably get the sixth spot. Vikings are our competition for the last one. Same # of wins but they have a game in hand, are the better team but also have Rams, Packers and Steelers to come so much tougher schedule (especially as Cowboys may rest starters). We cant have more let down games like today and I am not sure this young team is capable of that but Jets, Giants, Redskins x 2 is hardly a tough next four weeks

Division games can always go either way no matter how good or how bad the other team is. Oh well, must follow and act like this is now the worst team ever!

I'd say there is at least a 40% chance the #7 NFC seed is 8-9.  I've got another 40% chance 9-8 gets you in without a tie breaker.  It's down to Minny/Eagles/WFT.

Yep. especially given the Cowboys IMO put "lipstick on a pig" in beating a Saints team that might lose ALL of their remaining games and finish 5-12.  As noted, I have the Cowboys not winning another game all season and finishing 8-9, but still backing into the playoffs as the 7 seed and being slaughtered in Green Bay in the first round while the Eagles actually win the NFC East at 10-7.  I have the WFT finishing 7-10, beating the Cowboys twice but losing to everyone else.

After losing to the Giants it’s not very likely they make the playoffs. Unless Minshew pulls a Foles and leads them there. But it’s just not likely. I can see them losing to the Jets today and ending all the playoff talk.

Number 7 for the moment.

And there is no way are we loosing a BYE. LOL. Will get healthy and hopefully defeat Washington.

Pretty much a 4 team race for 2 spots: Eagles, Redskins, Vikings, and 49ers.

Huge game in 2 weeks coming off the back of a bye week for the Eagles.

Dallas is not a lock for the Division now that Washington and the Eagles are rising.  The NFC EAST could send 3 Teams to the playoffs.   The Problem is everyone plays each other the last month so we are going to beat each other up.

Given how many NFC East games there are to come (especially 2 between us and the WFT) I'm not sure it is possible to send 3 teams to the play offs? But imagine after the things that have been said about this division.

Wash (Dal, Birds, Dal, Birds, Giants)

Birds (Wash, Giants, Wash, Dal)

Boys (Wash, Giants, Wash, Ari, Birds)

So again the Cowboys have not locked anything up though they are ahead.  Yeah going to be a huge battle down the stretch.   But in 2006 and 2007 the NFC East sent 3 teams to the playoffs.

The Cowboys haven't locked anything up but they are going to win the division. They are the best team in the division and I would suggest are going to win at least 2 more games.

The Panthers, Falcons, and Saints are tied with the Vikings at 5-7. Somebody could run out the schedule and emerge from NFC South.
The Falcons schedule is pretty easy: Panthers, Lions, 49ers, Bills, Saints. Also the Saints: Jets, Bucs, Dolphins, Panthers, Falcons. (The Panthers still have to play the Bucs twice and the Bills.)

Anyway, all these teams in the hunt tells me expanding the playoff pool was a bad idea. None of these teams deserve to be in the playoffs.

Despite the schedule, I just don't think the Panthers, Falcons or Saints are good enough teams to run the table. Panthers and Saints don't have the offences for it, including QB. Falcons have a QB but not much else. Falcons probably lose to 49ers and Bills, Saints have tough games against Buccs and probably lose at least one of their last 3.

Agreed on the last playoff spot being a bad idea.

I don't see the Cowboys losing to Was twice or to us (if they are playing their starters). Think they are clearly the most talented team in the division this year
