I’m happy for the win but this defensive coordinator refuses to make simple and easy adjustments. On short yardage situations he continues to have his CB play 6-10 yards off the ball. We will never win even with slightly better than average QB’s when we are giving this much space. I’m glad that the offense is getting it together but I hope no one takes off the heat on the worse DC in the history of the NFL.

My problem with this photo isn’t the corners playing off. Actually if they’re up it’s more likely the get picked on the play. The bigger issue for me is that safety almost off the screen and over 15 yards back. The guy is in another area code for crying out loud.

I have a problem with both. Playing off 2 or 3 yards but that is ridiculous and they do it on third and one and I’ve seen nobody in the league do that

We have been watching Eagles corners do that for so long now I just feel like it’s part of the overall analytics philosophy they run. Lean they only gave up 13 points and they scored a touchdown. Can’t be too frustrated by them this week overall.

The issue I have is that actually our CBs are not that bad. Slay is actually pretty damn good and Nelson is not a bad #2 and you could give him some safety help to that side. So why so damn soft?

Asante Samuel would have loved this defense. His forte was sitting 7 yards off and breaking to the ball.

Well Bridgewater sucking had a lot to do with that.

Here’s the play log from your picture. It was 2nd & 4 not 3rd down. You can’t jam the Wr’s every play without eventually getting burned. That play ended up being a 15 pass, not a 5 yarder under the coverage.

The Eagles helped in that department too. They actually got pressure on him and made him uncomfortable in the pocket. Of course they have had far more success against mediocre to average quarterbacks than they have against good ones.

That’s the annoying part to me. They were playing the Safeties so deep that when they made plays over the middle and ran up the middle they broke big. One play the TE with a brace on his leg caught the ball between two linebackers in their zone and he ran up the field and the only guy who ran him down was Harris.

Not to mention they were playing a team who is notorious for not throwing the ball more than 10 yards down the field.

Gannon's biggest system flaw is FEAR. He shapes his scheme out of fear of big plays. You can't succeed at anything if fear is your guiding light. Defenses that are disruptive win the most games. Defenses that play out of confident, controlled fury, that INSTILLS fear in opponents, not a defense that is afraid of ITSELF. I really don't know if Gannon will ever see that. If not, replace him. Siri? Willing to adjust, and look at HIS results, Gannon.

We were facing a top 3 WR set in the NFL and 2 of the baddest ass RBs after the catch. I understand the precaution. Considering how they beet Dallas the week before, this Win was really unexpected. Good Thing.

One day the FO is going to realize that analytics make a horrible assumption, namely, it assumes that all offensive and defensive players are equal physically and mentally.

It's a foolish organization puts its trust in analytics.
