This is looking like it was brought to US by loony leftist ideas like bail reform, ending cash bail and ridiculous DA/judicial leniency. It's this kind of garbage that eventually leads to other bad ideas like three strikes and mandatory minimums.

No closer evidence of this movement than Philadelphia and the DA Krasner. Violent criminals are actively being put back on the streets through these policies.

Admitting it is a start. Resigning in disgrace is the next step.

Milwaukee County DA admits it was a mistake to grant $1,000 bail to SUV-driving felon days before he smashed into Xmas parade: Darrell Brooks was freed after running over mother of his child and is now charged with homicide after killing five

Yep, was way worse by any metric. Vegas concert shooting would've topped both, but Paddock's motive was never established.

Motive or not, Domestic terrorist or not, thats the worst mass murder I can remember in the States in my lifetime, outside of 911.

Well, unfortunately domestic violence is all too common in our society which is what the incident with the baby mama looks like

Driving your car through a parade is a completely different matter

Given that ‘’domestic violence’’ was him running over ‘’the baby mama’’ with his car, it’s not exactly completely different.

How badly was she injured?

based on what I just read he tried to run a woman over in a gas station parking lot and had racked up multiple new charges against himself but was released on $1000 bail

he has two pending felonies from last year but Milwaukee's backlogged court system had allowed him to remain free

Smh...

maybe we shouldn't clog up the courts by criminalizing petty nonsense that some find abhorrent (like weed and possession of other drugs) and focus on crimes with actual victims.

nah, that's crazy talk.

Odd there is so little info on the other two yet

Of course the Vegas thing was terrorism.  Do we need a f-ing manifest from Paddock to have it be called terrorism?   No.  He targeted the people at the concert and he caused terror.  His motive is irrelevant.  It was obviously terrorism.  Amazing how nothing has come out about that.  Just brushed under the carpet.

Almost makes you wonder if the fbi has set the guy up with bait and then it all went sideways

Are you trying to do a TEW impression: leftist edition?

The far larger problem is allowing violent repeat offenders to get off with minimal punishment time and time again. But that's one of ishlibs' main policy platforms now, so what can you do?

It’s nice that you finally decided to look into something rather than just repeatedly commenting on it ignorantly. Knowledge feels good, doesn’t it?

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., revealed in a new interview, perhaps unwittingly, that she doesn't necessarily support the details in a bill she endorsed last year that would abolish federal prisons over the course of 10 years, admitting that there are some people who legitimately belong behind bars.

During an interview Monday with Axios reporter Jonathan Swan, Tlaib was pressed on her support for the BREATHE Act, which calls for the Department of Justice and the Department of Health and Human Services to create a "roadmap for prison abolition," including the "full decarceration of federal detention facilities within 10 years" and "a moratorium on all new federal prison, jail, immigrant and youth detention construction."

Is that why I feel so good all the time?

Evidently, that’s the drugs.
