Yes, Mailata is a versatile superweapon.

Yup, yay! go nastiness! now stay on the effing field.

Next time he gets hurt, I nominate you to replace him, so you can find out exactly how easy it is to "stay on the effing field” in the NFL.

I liked that he publicly said how they're dirty players

Saints have always been a dirty team. I hate them almost as much as the Cowboys. I did say almost.

Goal line fullback- Fridge-like

he just has to be careful because as with that Cowboys LB who head butted him...people are going to try and take cheap shots...

And for those who try....

Filled in JPs shoes just fine. So happy.

Can you imagine how ridiculous the conversation must have sounded when they discovered him?

Howie: "I have an idea of how we can replace JP."

Stoutland: "Ok, I'm listening."

Howie: "He is a rugby player who has NEVER played a down of football all his life, not even peewee football."

Stoutland: "Good one, boss. I spit my coffee out on that one. Your comedy is spot on this morning. Welp, I'm off to vacation."

Howie: "Ummm, put the vacation on hold, you are going to go work this guy out 1st."

Stoutland: "You are on a roll today! Funny stuff, boss. Well I gotta pack fo vaca."

Howie: "Drafts coming up, go work him out, then take vacation after that. I'm not joking. Pack your bags and go. Here is your plane ticket."

Stoutland: "OMG, you're serious..."

Basically- a true story, including the cancel your vaca thing. The rest is history.

Even without Mailata I think it would be fair to say Stoutland is the best OL coach in the NFL.

Mailata though has to be his crowning achievement.

This is not a "next step” for him, because it’s something he’s been doing since last year. He enjoys throwing guys to the ground, and making them eat dirt. He’s the biggest guy out there and he wants people to know it.

But I think he's developing that nasty streak. He isn't just out there protecting his QB on plays he's going after guys if they've touched his QB.

He "legitimately" wants to run a speed option with Hurts, Mailata and two other QBs on the field.

Don't waste your time.

and it also makes you wonder why Dillard has not panned out to be the bookend LT he was supposed to be...Stout can make a guy with zero experience into a solid LT, yet the first round draft pick still can't win the position outright...

I think he made a decent LT out of him. It's just that Mailata is so damn good he made Dillard look weak.

I gotta hand it to the team for having the foresight to draft him, then keep him on the roster for a couple of year so he couldn't get poached by another team, developing him to be a top notch player, and locking him up long term.  He's an organizational accomplishment on many different levels.

They need to think outside the box and send him in to threaten Howie if he F’s up this coming draft.  Bet you Howie walks the straight and narrow and doesn’t make some obscure reach…

Someone needs to takeover for Kelce when he's gone.

We have so many options. Dickerson can handle playing C. Herbig is getting all the 2nd team reps there this year and was a pretty stout RG last year when he filled in for Brooks. Seumalo has had work there in the past and is also a very good G. That's 3 guys right there that can play G or C. Driscoll can play T or G. Honestly, we are in good shape if Kelce retires. I'd prefer he decides to play a couple more seasons, but that's up to him.

Either Semulo or Dickerson

Some people are simply unteachable. Usually they are of the stubborn type, or think their way is the ultimate way, even when it's not working.
