Top 5 when he is really on like the last few games last year. You obviously don't remember the 2019 Eagles' 5-7 start when Wentz was inconsistent and had some crappy games, or how the Eagles' 4-0 finish included no wins against teams with winning records and three wins against teams that finished with 3 or 4 wins, or how the 2018 team looked like they not a playoff team when Wentz was under center but then arguably played their two best offensive games of the season (at Rams, vs Texans) when Nick Foles started in place of an injured Wentz at the end of the season. Shouldn't a true franchise quarterback be able to make his teammates look better in most cases, not just occasional cases? I stand by my statement that Carson Wentz has not fully proven he's a bonafide franchise quarterback. He can still do so, but hasn't done so yet based on the last two seasons, which represent nearly half of his career NFL games played.

Even if true its not a secret he was concussed. Ive examined patients with the same type of concusion right after. It is common. One guy who fell off a dirt bike couldn't remember his wife of ten years name.

This stuff was reported after it happened. I don’t recall this exact quote, but things very similar definitely were. The unfortunate thing is that this concussion may affect him going forward. We really don’t know.

Think any of Wentz’s performance that season had anything to do with the fact the he was playing with a broken back? To discredit what he did at the end of this past season because of "who they played” is an insult to Wentz. He played with less than nothing. And he played exactly like a franchise QB, which he is.

Sure his thread title was a bit click-baity, but the subject matter is a serious consideration despite how badly TATERs want to deny it. Wentz has suffered a series of injuries with the latest one involving his pregnant wife coming into the locker room to check up on him. After getting paid and having a kid(s), it's not that far fetched to speculate that Wentz COULD hang it up early.

That's common with those injuries.

May 1, 20205 yr I mean, yeah, he can get injured again. But I sure hope this is more of a Stafford situation. If you remember, he was also considered "injury prone" at the beginning of his career. He didn't get hurt again until last season and he is considered "reliable" and "durable". People just have short-term memory.
May 1, 20205 yr Article makes it sound like retirement is imminent. Doubt that happens. He's too much of a team guy and realizes he has to help the rook learn the ropes. But 2021? Especially if he gets clocked again? And who doesn't think the NFL isn't full of guys who take cheap shots when they can? I can definitely see it and wouldn't be shocked if this was part of the "uncomfortable" convo he had with Howie on draft day.
May 1, 20205 yr I think it is hilarious that because Andrew Luck called it quits now everyone assumes talented QB's hanging it up early will be the new norm. It's football. People get hurt. QB's especially Franchise talent level QB's do not retire early and walk away from over 150 million. Andrew Luck is not the new normal.

He sat on the bench next to backup Josh McCown and looked at a computer tablet branded along its border with the NFL Playoffs logo". Wentz looked up. "Are we in the playoffs?” he asked McCown. This is taken from Fords last Eagles column yesterday after 32 years of being a terrific beat writer for the Inquirer. I guess since he's retiring he was the only Philly writer with the balls to tell the truth. That's why hurts was drafted. We're looking at Andrew Luck in Philly. Now we can debate if Hurts is the answer should Wentz retire early, which I believe he will, but that's why they drafted him. It's a shame to. He's 2020's version of Lindros. Didn’t you realize Wentz left the playoff game with a concussion? Jim Kelly doesn’t remember an entire Super Bowl. That’s what happens when your brain smashes into your skull.
