That is unreal timing.  I watched the special and told my wife it seemed like a living funeral mass. And then 3 days later.........BOOM.

I barely remember him as a coach, however, I remember him quite well in the early stages of his broadcasting career. He was educational and witty. My only gripe was how he seemed to have a love affair with certain players/team: Giants in the late 80's, the Niners, and Brett Favre. They could do no wrong. 

Him using the national broadcast football game as his chalkboard with yellow pen was legendary.

So sad

Ahhhh that stinks.

RIP awesome announcer.
