Howard returns to practice ahead of game in Washington

Eagles running back Jordan Howard returned to practice on Thursday but was a limited participant.

Howard was listed as "did not participate” when the practice week began on Wednesday.

Since Miles Sanders has already been ruled out for this Sunday’s game in Washington because of a broken hand, the Eagles could really use Howard. But Howard suffered a stinger against the Giants on Sunday and his status is up in the air.

A couple years ago, Howard’s season ended early because of a stinger, so his status is worth monitoring as the week continues.

"He's just working like crazy to get back and get himself ready to go for this game,”head coach Nick Sirianni said on Wednesday.

"We're aware of the injury last time. We know what went down with that and everything, but it's a separate injury and we're just treating it that way and trying to get him back for this football game. And he’s working – him and the trainers and the doctors and our strength staff are working like crazy to get him ready.”

Here’s the Eagles’ full injury report from Thursday:

Did not participate: Miles Sanders (hand)

Limited: Jordan Howard (stinger)

Full: Kenny Gainwell (ankle), Nate Herbig (knee), Jalen Hurts (ankle), K’Von Wallace (hip), Jason Kelce (rest), Lane Johnson (rest), Fletcher Cox (rest)

All good news on this injury report given that we already knew Sanders was out. Howard was at least a limited participant, so hope remains that he’ll be ready.

And every player that was limited to start the week was full on Thursday, including running back Kenny Gainwell and quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Good news that Howard should be good to go on Sunday. They are going to need Hurts to be able to run more though. With Sanders out I think that's going to be real important.
